As i have said in my google review, i think this is the best homestay you can find in Yakushima. This is my second time staying with Taguchi and Hitomi san and as the 1st time, they are so nice and accommodating. They gave great suggestions ** i walked and climbed some difficult trails and it took me a total of 14hrs in2 days ** my legs ohh...hahha...and they also offered to pick you or send you to the port for your trip. They did their outmost best to make you feel at home which I said it did make me feel very welcome ^^ Clean and cosy...the room is big and the house is well designed.

Amazing breakfast (900 yen per person), highly recommended. Nice bathroom and bathtub. Beds meant to fit one person fit two. Staff helped us finding an ATM that works for international credit cards and a restaurant where we could pay with an international credit card.

The host was absolutely lovely! Even though she knew limited English, she tried her best and was extremely charming and welcoming. The facilities are very clean and it was easy to meet and socialise with the other guest. The bathroom is very good too, and you could use the shower if you're not comfortable with the Japanese bath culture of using the same water. Plus, cats are very cute too!

Wonderful location, gorgeous place to stay with a homely and friendly atmosphere. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit, warm baked bread and fresh eggs from the chickens. Miki also organised bento for our long hike and helped with restaurant recommendations and bookings. We loved it here.

The rooms are spacious and clean, the deck is amazing. The hosts are really nice and welcoming. They helped us with every problem we encountered (car rental canceled and airplane canceled), and were very lovely.

I loved the location and my room was large looking out to the garden and could hear the sounds of the stream nearby. The owner was lovely and so helpful and prepared delicious evening meals for me.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Yuki-San who was a very kind, friendly hostess. She went above and beyond to share local information on walks (ask for her hand-drawn, whimsical maps), food, weather, and more. With she and her husband's farm fresh, organic food and his freshly caught fish, we enjoyed three amazing dinners. We highly recommend all of her food! Besides all of this awesomeness, our favorite part of the stay was talking with Yuki-San about her life experiences and homestay stories. We will definitely be back!

An absolutely amazing place to stay in Miyanoura area. The room was very spacious and had everything you might need, and the traditional bath elevated the experience even further. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to come back to Yakushima and to Sen-no-Ie in particular (¬‿¬)
