The owners and the lady working here are extremely lovely and helpful, even made us take away breakfast when we had an early train! We did the Ijen tour through them and it was great!

Danu was fantastic - he stayed up super late to make sure we could check in after our bus was cancelled and then the replacement rerouted. The room was a good size, and the air-conditioning worked well. Danu was also helpful in directing me to an excellent hospital when I was ill during our stay.

Lovely people, perfect location, great room with outdoor bathroom. Pool is a bit small, but with the amazing shower I didn’t miss it. There is a big fan in the room which was great for me since I prefer that over AC
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
This place is a great stop on our Indonesia Tour. We decided to go with Fendy (the host) to see the turtles and it was one of the best experiences we have had in Indonesia. He is really knowledgable and a great host. Would definitely stay again.
Juda Homestay is such a beautiful place! The rooms are simple, but clean and the bed is cozy. The AC was working perfectly! The terrace is enchanting with all the plants. Juda was a great host and organised our tour to mount Ijen. Staying outside the city center had the advantage that we had the most beautiful walk to the train station through some rice fields.
Mocca guesthouse offered a tasty breakfast, and welcoming hosts. They offered cheap tours of Ijen and surrounding attractions, and cheap transfers to Bali. We enjoyed a short stay there. Close to restaurants too. I recommend staying there with a family.
Dannu was Dannu is a great host. He's very kind. He takes care of everything. His guest house is comfortable. It has everything and is superbly located. He offered us a 3-day package to visit Mount Ijen, Mount Bromo and Yogyakarta. We were carried away and he managed everything superbly. I'd definitely recommend him!
Wooden Kemiren is an economical, quiet and "feel at home" guesthouse. Imam is a wonderful host and his kindness is amazing. He can also organize tours for you, and thanks to him we had the BEST tour of Kawah Ijen, with the most amazing guides. Beyond that, the guesthouse is perfect to explore the beautiful, authentic surroundings of Banyuwangi (with a scooter Imam will arrange for you, naturally 😉). 100% recommended if you're looking for a budget option that will make you happy!
Relaxed and quiet place, great hosts, nice beds and good airco. Room was clean. Hosts were always available for support and to tell us all about Indonesia and Banyuwangi area.
Very good value for money. The host can arrange tours to for example IJen, Baluran and snorkeling tours, prices are very acceptable. And they have bycicles you can use to explore the area.
The host and vibe at this place was great. the host did everything he could to make our holiday the best time possible. he brought us everywere we needed to go. the ferrry , the harbor for a boat trip to a deserted island and he brought us to a local fish market to eat some fresh fish from the barbeque. We also had great company in the homestay. if you look for a cheap place with a great host and a nice vibe look no further than dannu!
The room was one of the nicest we've stayed in the whole time we've been in Indonesia. The location is good central enough but off the road so its quiet. Tommy is a great host and went out of his way to help us find good places to eat, sort out train tickets and tours.
Azmi is a great host, friendly, helpfull if you need any advice... He took us for a tour in a closed Baluran National Park to see wildlife... it was really wonderfull!
It's lovely charming place, clean, comfortable, lot of space in the room... when we saw the place, we decided to stay an extra night...
Beautiful homestay. The owner is also the architect, and it shows in all the beautiful details. It's very quiet and relaxing. Tommy was a great host, very helpful and kind. Beds and shower were great too! Simple, but very good breakfast. Also free refill for water.
