Szem's Guesthouse quickly became one of our favorite places to stay. It’s genuinely one of the most comfortable accommodations we’ve ever experienced, and the sense of relaxation we felt there is something we can’t emphasize enough. What We Loved: - The house is located on a quiet street shaded by towering chestnut and pine trees, providing a peaceful and serene environment. - Parking is free and conveniently located on the street under the trees. - The house’s courtyard features stunning pathways lined with flowers, also shaded by the majestic chestnuts and pines, creating a tranquil outdoor space. - Each room opens up to large terraces furnished with tables, plants, and flowers — perfect for evening conversations with friends over a glass of wine. - This place is ideal for groups of families, with or without children; we can’t imagine a more relaxing spot. - For those who enjoy grilling, there’s a designated barbecue area that adds to the charm of this guesthouse. - The hosts were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in late due to traffic and providing an early check-out as well. - The house is just 300 meters from the lake and 200 meters from the town center, which is bustling with terraces offering delicious meals for all tastes and budgets (including the largest wienerschnitzel on the planet 🙂). Szem's Guesthouse offers a unique blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty, making it a perfect retreat in Balatonszemes. If you're looking for a place where relaxation comes naturally, this is it.

Single room was great. Small but all you need with airco and own bathroom/toilet. Very clean. The hosts were very nice and although i only speak a bit of German (and no Hungarian) communication was no problem.

Houst was nice. We arrived little bit late but he wait for us.

Everything was excellent

2024/09/11 I needed to book the room at about 22.45 and it was possible here ! The owner was able to answer by phone and confirmed my staying and I came at about 24.00 for one night staying. Tasteful and full breakfast, comfortable bed, a bit old fashioned but comfortable shower and WC. Interiour design is interesting - with pictures on the walls, carpets on the floor, nice sculptures in the garden and in the building ! Total price for the night was 61 euro (breakfast included, double-bed)

Absolutely fabulous, we loved it a lot! Ideal for friends, families and couples. Very clean, stlylish apartments with a quiet yard, small terraces and a common nice kitchen, all well-designed. The location is perfect, close to Tagore passage and the beaches as well. Thank you for everything! 🙂

A satiable, proportionate breakfast, welcoming and helpful host (despite the fact that the serving personnel were not speaking English language), a nice terrace and comfortable room. Upon arrival late in the evening, we were also offered one bottle of delightful local wine on the house.

I liked the Apartment and the Swimming pool. We also liked to eat breakfast by the Pool and drink Coffee:) In an Apartment was everything that you needed. I also liked the Lavender Soap in the bathroom, cause the Tihany is known for the Lavender fields and they made a bunch of stuff out of it. We didn't have far to walk to the City, where we could see the old houses of Tihany. There we drank Lavender Lemonade, Lavender Wine, Lavender liquor and Lavender beer. I forgot to taste the Lavender Ice cream so next year I need to come back 😅 Last year I visited the other side of Lake Balaton and I saw that Tihany is very calm and quiet, which is also good for those who want that. We did need to walk a little more to the beach.. but if you don't want to Walk, then you can take the Bus, Taxi or you can rent a bike. Our only regret was that we did not extend our stay in the apartment as our vacation passed too quickly.

Great place to stay with kids. Our 2 year old boy had so much fun that he didn't want to leave the apartment. Owner is also very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much, it's been a memorable accomodation!
