Nice clean comfortable accommodation with excellent garden/outdoor facilities. Although we did not meet the owner they kept in touch throughout the booking process and provided details in respect to arrival procedure and how to access them if there were any problems.

Very welcoming and family run B&B, within a few minutes walk of St Magnus' Cathedral in Kirkwall. The house looks small from the outside, but what a surprise when you step inside. After the welcome greeting, and shown around the guest lounge and our room, even invited to a dram before bed!
The bedroom (a family room) was spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view down to the harbour and the water.
The facilities in the room are good, and the information on local restaurants was handy - try the Storehouse, it had amazing food.
Parking is no problem, and safe, free parking is available on the street. Even the Electric Car was able to be charged overnight at the Orkney & Islands Council offices, just 2 minutes walk away (you can park and charge from 6pm until 8am - you'll need a ChargePoint Scotland membership or App).

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
