The Birches, hotel in Dingwall

Set within 24 km of Inverness Castle and 8.3 km of Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club in Dingwall, The Birches offers accommodation with seating area.

Unfortunately I chose a weekend when the host was not providing breakfast but the well fitted kitchen and dining room were available for guests to use and I was warned in advance. The parking in front of the house was very welcome as it was close to guest accommodation. Location was excellent for centre of Dingwall and Davidson museum which was reason for my visit.

The Waverley Inn, hotel in Dingwall

Featuring 3-star accommodation, The Waverley Inn is situated in Dingwall, 23 km from Inverness Castle and 8.9 km from Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club.

You might wonder why I'm giving 7/10 while most of other reviews are pretty critical. It's the second time I visited Waverly Inn and TBH, I knew where I am going, what to expect, what I will get. I still think it is very good budget option. When you look at other hotels/BNBs in NW of Scotland, they are ridiculously expensive, rip hundreds of pounds for the night. Are they worth the money? I strongly doubt so. So if budget is your main priority, this is the place to go. Location is perfect, you can go any direction be it N, W, S, or E, you will quickly find the beauty of Scottish nature around. And if you are like me - you use the hostel just to crash out for the night, what else would you need? Also, talking about real benefits, the staff is very kind and flexible for late check-in; breakfast is included! It is not much but it gets you going!

Good size accomodation, with decent size TV and table and chairs. Good coffee making facilities and having a fridge is a bonus. The accomodation was within walking distance of some lovely woodland walks.

Carisbrooke Guest House, hotel in Dingwall

In the heart of Inverness, Carisbrooke Guest House offers contemporary en suite rooms with TVs. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

The guest house is run by a husband and wife team, and even when they officially ran out of breakfast in November, there was something to eat in the dining room on the ground floor. Very good for the money.

Returned here after an overnight stay in 2017 as we loved our stay then and this time was just as lovely. Rooms are so thoughtfully and stylishly appointed, beautiful linen, fluffy robes, good lighting, lovely toiletries and a really delightful extra touch of a delicious home cooked snack and a nip of whisky. Breakfast was delightful, fresh fruits, creamy yoghurt and a fabulous full Scottish to follow. The host, Alison is so charming and helpful too. Perfect b and b 💖

Danny and Hilde are very kind and welcoming hosts. There are nice little extras which make you feel most welcome. We also liked the fragrance in the room. The house lies in a quiet neighbourhood. The bed is very comfortable, so we had a sound sleep. Breakfast was wonderful and the two Dachshounds were very cute. This Bed and Breakfast is highly recommendable and very good value for the price. If we come back to Dingwall, we will certainly book here again.

Comfortable single room with separate bathroom for your own use. The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable and Alison was a great host. The whisky on arrival was very welcome. I wanted to explore the area but didn't want to stay in Inverness. Dingwall was a quiet little town ideally situated for exploring by car or public transport. The train station and bus stop is just over the road. Highly recommended.
