The house is situated in a quiet residential area set in its own gardens on the western rim of Carlisle, en route to the Solway coast. From the hotel you can view the Scottish border hills and the line of the Roman Wall.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. We loved that there is a bar and restaurant on premises. We were walking Hadrian's Wall and this guest house is further from the path than we realized (totally our fault) but close to the bus into Carlisle. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if we're in Carlisle.

What a great find. A proper B&B in all the right ways. A large city centre town house sympathetically laid out whilst retaining great features. Plenty of permit parking nearby. A great hostess and a fabulous breakfast offering. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful and well presented rooms in a clean and brilliantly run guest house. Kelly who runs Abbey Court was incredibly welcoming and made my wife feel at home immediately as she was travelling alone. She felt like she was staying with a friend, rather than a guest house but the standard of both the room and food were excellent. Wi-Fi worked perfectly and walking distance to city centre and train station. Nice and quiet and home from home. Highly recommend if in Carlisle.

Great location, nice and quiet, and with in a short drive/ walk you will find some excellent restaurants. The accommodation is second to none. Lynnette is a great host and provides an excellent breakfast. This was our second stay at Hollyside and again did not fail to impress.
