Room was very cold on arrival, building was unmanned. Heating came on around 17.30 until 10.00, still. off when we woke at07.30, and still off when we went out at 10.30, despite our comments to staff. Your staff assured us our problems would be passed on to others, ans were efficient and kind throughout our stay. The second difficulty we had was the washbasin cold tap was not working, making washing in very hot water extremely difficult. Despite reporting this problem at least three times daily, the problem still existed three days after our arrival (just realised am writing in the wrong box). What I did like was your staff, Susan and her pal were lovely, and assured me there would pass on my problems re heating.

I had an evening meal & breakfast and thought the quality of both was excellent. I had a pint of the Hobgoblin stout and thought this was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was ideal for my needs with well stocked beverages, towels, washing products and a radiator which could be regulated.

It is very homely and comfortable, quiet at night and the views are incredible. Vanessa and Jim are lovely and the breakfast is a good selection, freshly cooked. Pancakes are my favourite.

Great location, 10 minutes walk from the town centre, a very pleasant walk in. Just off a main road, though very quiet. Veggie breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very personable, helpful and informative. Overall a relaxing short break.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Really well equipped. Comfy beds, felt like home from home. Great location, right in the town centre but quiet. Friendly host when communicating with after. Nice touches such as a few food supplies, coffee, cereal, milk, eggs etc
Great location, comfortable and quiet. Very comfy beds, lovely bathrooms and all the home from home items you needed. Great service from Host & Stay. Very easy to book and pay for.
Superb B&B just outside Barnard Castle in the quiet of the countryside. We booked to stay as we had tickets to see a show at the Whitham in Barnard Castle and it was a really easy commute back and forth from the show. Karen the host was lovely and the room was spotless with fantastic views of the farm and the countryside. The fresh scone on arrival was beautiful as was the fresh fruit and cooked breakfast the next morning. The bed was comfortable and the room had a lovely cosy feel.
Karen is a great host, welcoming and friendly. Homemade scones and biscuits were very welcome . Really enjoyed breakfast, well cooked and presented.
Wonderful views and quiet location. Would stay again if in the area.
Delightful and very welcoming host. Location very quiet with wonderful views. The real bonus was a flannel with the towels.....very unusual to include in either a hotel or a bed and breakfast.
Great location, easy to contact the great host. Beautiful home! I would def stay there again. Friendly neighbours. Easy to get to the high street without a car. The place is so clean and tidy...
Fantastic, quaint bed and breakfast. Excellent service in the restaurant and an excellent menu, which was extremely well priced. The rooms were presented well and overall a great location. Would highly recommend.
Brenda & Daniele are great hosts, very friendly & attentive. The house is very nice, in a great location for exploring Barnard Castle, they welcome dogs (our whippet George had a lovely time). We'd recommend booking at least one Tuscan meal during your stay, it's a real taste of Tuscany. We'll definitely be back.
