la maison dans les bois, hotel in Durtal

Situated in Soucelles, 14 km from Angers Expo and 18 km from Terra Botanica, la maison dans les bois features spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

This is quite an incredible place and feels much like hanging out in a wonderfully spacious tree house. It's well equipped and comfortable and offers a lot of space in which to unwind and relax. The bedroom is quite zen-like and would be the ideal room for morning yoga. The host Jean Pierre is wonderfully welcoming, warm and friendly and surely has many tales to tell of his admirable efforts to build this place solely out of wood. And if you're a cat lover, you might just come across Peu Peu (I think that's how it might be spelled), super friendly and laid back.... which gives you another clue on what to expect at this quite special place settled in calm surroundings. Thank you Jean Pierre.

The restoration of the property is immaculate. The grounds were also beautiful and we loved the animals, especially Bagheera the cat.

La Foutelaie, hotel in Durtal

Located just a 10-minute drive from La Flèche, La Foutelaie offers B&B accommodation with a garden.

Lovely self contained property in a beautiful setting. Lounge, kitchenette and two self contained bedrooms. There was one other guest there as well but that was no more than you’d get in any other chambre d’hote or hotel. Charming hosts and they’d even put some beer in the fridge for us. We ate our supper in the garden in the shade of a lovely tree listening to the birds sing.

Le Tertre, hotel in Durtal

Boasting garden views, Le Tertre offers accommodation with terrace, around 16 km from Solesmes Abbey. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area.

Lovely stay in this little cottage. The grounds are idyllic, unfortunately we only had a one night stop over so couldn't make the most of it. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves as this is a shared apartment with two bedrooms, each having their own ensuite. The kitchen is shared and so is the sitting area. If I was to hire this place again, I would want it to myself because we had a cat with us. If we shared with folk that had a dog this would have been a problem.

Very friendly and helpful host. Felt more like staying with a friend than just a bed and breakfast. Fascinating, historical house. Food was also great, and Durtal was a pretty little town.

Very characterful building with appropriately characterful decor and furnishings, with the possible exception of the shelves full of the owner’s business correspondence! Lovely garden with seating for guests. Access to fridge in the kitchen area. Nice quiet location.
