The location was great. We stayed 2 nights at the roof top and we could see the Pyramid of Giza from the windows, as well as during breakfast time at the terrace. So it's not far from us to visit the Pyramid of Giza. Totally, it was located in a perfect area. We like the breakfast cos we had a chance to taste the Egyptian foods, it was very nice. The hotel owner (Mahmoud, +201225556465) was friendly and helpful, he helped us with airport pickup and transfer service, also the full day tour and the Nile cruise dinner with good reasonable prices. The driver (Mostafa, +201025572237) speaks good English, provided safely drive with a good aircon car. He prepared breakfast for us in early morning before we left the hotel and fly to Aswan at 5am.

The highlight of the Nikhil Inn are the kind staff. Although I never met the receptionist Taha because I was always at meetings during the reception hours, Mr. Taha reached out to me even before I arrived to make sure I had all the details I needed for my check-in. He gave me solid advice for taxi pricing, using Über, and finding good food in the area. Reservation/check-in: I was even able to change my reservation to stay in the same room, because on booking.com my room was booked for the last day. Their flexibility made it possible for me to stay in the same (lower priced!) room. It was more comfortable for me and saved me a bit of money. I was also able to check in after the reception hours with the house cleaning staff, who were very kind and friendly. As for the room: it is simple and has everything I needed. The bed is solid and comfortable (about 140*200cm), the sheets and towels fresh and clean. There was a water boiler, tea cups, a fridge, a tv, and air conditioning (which I didn't use bc of the nice weather). I could use the wardrobe to hang my business things as well and stow my hand luggage. The bathroom appears to be relatively recently rennovated. There was also a small table and chair which I could use to eat a quick breakfast before going off to meetings. Location: the area is residential and relatively quiet with many restaurants. It is an area where local folks actually live (this is no expat neighborhood), so come here to get away from the touristy areas and live the real Cairo life. The room was located on the 3rd floor, which felt very safe from the street and not too high up either. The area was also very safe for walking around, even as a single, blonde woman who sticks out as non-egyptian.

The location is excellent and a close walk to most things in downtown, some restaurants and shopping nearby too. The hosts are great, especially Mostafa (I think that's how it's spelled). He was very nice to chat with and makes great coffee! The place is clean and there is always someone around to ask a question to. It felt so welcoming and familial there.
