Ettal was an excellent town with some very good restaurants for dinners and a beautiful Abbey and brewery to visit. I wish we could have had more local insights into some of the hidden cafes and specialities of the town, but we did stumble upon a hot-air balloon event in the abbey.

Great stay at Pension Bavaria in Mittenwald. The owner of the Pension was truly friendly and always keen to help with information or ideas for hikes. The breakfast was great: fresh fruit and eggs, different kinds of bread included. The room was tidy, comfortable bed and had a balcony with mountain-view. The place was very comfortable, and very well equipped. It has an excellent location and a good view. It is quiet, very clean and very close to the city center.
It is a charming house with Great location and amazing view from balcony. The owner Mrs. Bellini is super nice, who provided everything we asked, and even offered us early check-in. The guest card is highly recommended, which offers a lot of benefits/discounts in Alpen area.
We love Mittenwald and knew the area where Pension Karner was situated as being nice and quiet. We loved the view of the mountains. David our host was very friendly and helpful and our rooms was clean, comfortable and warm (very cold days when we visited) and was great value. We'd liked to have stayed another night. Breakfast good and well presented.
The hosts met us upon our arrival and they were very friendly giving directions and advice on what to see. We came to Mittenwald to do some hiking and even though this apartment is a bit further out of the city centre, it's quite a short walk to the main attractions as well as a rather quiet neighbourhood. The terrace of the apartment is superb with a view of the mountain. All in all, I'd definitely come back to stay at this place again!
David was a brilliant host with an eye for detail (a honesty pot for glasses of wine/beer to enjoy the evening sun on your balcony with for example). Breakfast was fresh, appetising and filling, set in a quiet breakfast room with no sense of rush. Bedroom was an amazing size and comfortable and the Pension was nestled in a beautiful spot at the base of the mountains. David was on hand to offer local walking and other tourist tips without being overbearing.
