Boat trips are available on the Rursee with a round trip from Schwammenauel to Rurberg. The Rurseebahn railway offers a one-hour tour through Heimbach and Hasenfeld. The accommodation is also placed after the third stage of the Wildnis-Trail (willderness trail), and guests can spend the night here and enjoy a delicious breakfast before setting off on the fourth and final stage.

Awesome location, quiet environment and well located to reach other areas in the vicinity. The Lady of the pension went to a great extent to accommodate my needs, she silently adjusted the breakfast according to what I'd left the day prior (I'm vegetarian). Communication was rather limited due to my poor knowledge of the German language, but no effort was too much in trying to understand what I wanted to convey :)

Everything was great. Very elaborate breakfast buffet and great garden where we could relax in the sun. Fridge with drinks (local beers) we could take for a small price, even when the restaurant was closed. Were able to get a meal on monday evening between 18-19h, which was very nice.

Stay: April 23 to 24 2024. This is a cool small "pension" is the heart of Gemünd, in the outskirts of the Eifel National Park. With a parking lot across the street, things are made easy for those traveling by car. With a small number of rooms, the hearty breakfast was understandably not a buffet style but plentiful being brough to your assigned table (it was nice to have the breakfast included option). Frau Margot weas very kind and helpful. The room, bed and bathrooms were very comfortable with everything needed for a good rest after a day of hiking or travel. Very nice and clear wood floors, with a tray at the room entrance inviting guests to leave their shoes/boots there, keeping the room clean.
