great place :) I came for a couple nights and ended up staying longer because it was so awesome. the weekend had many activities around town to stay busy- the hostel was full of really nice people and we all hung out and went out. The other days I stayed I got to enjoy relaxing at the hostel- super chill vibe , i drank by the pool , slept in the hammock listening to monkeys and played pool with the owner and friends- really nice staff with cool travel stories. i WILL be coming back , seeya later Danny!

Frangipani is a fabulous property, one of the best I’ve ever stayed at. The gardens are beautiful and it’s set in the jungle with amazing views. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Only a short drive into town, an ideal location. The villa is spacious and very comfortable, it has everything you need. The property is very well maintained with beautiful gardens. The pool is lovely and you can hike down to the waterfalls via the property. Johnson is a friendly, professional, helpful and welcoming man who is willing to help with any questions. He shared information on local activities and tours. I was sad to leave and hope to be back soon!

My stay of 9 nights (first by myself, later on with my boyfriend) was just absolutely fantastic! After some weeks of travelling that was just the perfect spot to relax, to enjoy amazing views and wonderful sunsets close to quiet nature surroundings and away from town!
The hosts are suuper super nice, inspiring and helpful personalities! I loved to spend my final time up there! Whether you travel by yourself or as a couple/group, I would highly recommend that place!!

They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
We really enjoyed the air conditioning in every room and a living room with a big sofa where the whole family can relax. Barbecue and laundry room are great assets. There's also a fully-equipped kitchen and as many bathrooms as bedrooms which is very convenient for those traveling in 4-6 people.

Also, the area itself is amazing, almost like a national park. You can see parrots, turtles, iguanas, monkeys, lizards, various birds and other animals everywhere!
The accommodation was stunning and set in beautiful surroundings. The owner took great pride in his accomplishment having built it all himself and deservedly as it really was amazing. We enjoyed the 2 pools and the quiet surroundings and the very private balcony.
The property is located in exceptional surroundings as it it immersed in the jungle - it is perfect for a couple of days of peace and quiet after the busy Santa Teresa. The hosts were very sweet and helpful 😊
The standard of accommodation is excellent and the attention to detail throughout is very noticeable. Breakfast is good and Thomas is such a brilliant host. If you are looking for peace and quiet surrounded by nature then this is the place to be. You will need to have a decent vehicle as it is a few miles from any places to eat and any beaches.
Thomas is such an amazing host, makes you feel right at home. We had a great stay at the lodge - lovely room & great breakfast. The lodge is situated quite close to the sea (driving distance) making it the perfect fallback position for going out on a diverse range of trips during the day & to relax in a nice and quiet environment at night.

When we left Léon even drove us to the bus stop to get to Cobano, when we realised the bus has been missed, he generously dropped us off in Cobano to to continue on our travels! Top man 😀.
We stayed in the two bedroom bungalow that is quite separate and the terrace is very private. The whole place is very quiet and peaceful. We had the additional breakfast on two days and enjoyed it. We were comfortable and slept well. Bridget and Leon are great hosts. We were able to take our dogs with us and they enjoyed their stay also!
The location was perfect, I the middle of the forest and very quiet. The last 1 km or so to the lodge is unpaved but absolutely doable without a 4x4. I stayed in the "Montezuma" villa and it felt like you were in a tree house. Howler monkeys and lots of birds in the tree that you can watch while relaxing on the patio. Thomas is a very warm-hearted, lovely host. He even came to fetch me when there were animals around. Best accommodation during my stay in Costa Rica.
Amazing lodge in a very quiet location. You feel the junglevibes (and actually hear the howlermonkeys) while enjoying the pool. Great breakfast! And the host was very friendly and helpful!
