Jan's place was just lovely, and so was she! The flat was comfortable, characterful and private, with a lovely balcony. The shared pool is gorgeous, with a wonderful view. Jan is so generous and interesting, and we loved having a chat. The friendly dogs were fun to cuddle as well. Quepos is a great little place (much better than Manuel Antonio). Make sure you visit the Bon Bonete French patisserie, and the market on Friday and Saturday for great fruit, veg and crafts.

They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Markus was a great host, which is not a given in Costa Rica. The bungalow was clean, the kitchen well equipped, the beds large. I would recommend ordering dinner in addition to breakfast. The whole place is located in the jungle where you can take a great hike to the waterfalls where no one else will disturb you. So you can go for a short trip here or just relax by the pool which is big enough for swimming.

Great location. Apartment was very well equipped. We were so grateful that we were able to put a wash on whilst staying there and the host gave us washing powder to use. You can park the car directly inside the property too.
Great place off the beaten track that is tourist central Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Great hosts and a chance to spend time with the real people who live there. Lovely and simple apartment with everything you need
I liked the location, very close to the bus stop, very closed to the restaurants. The pool was really nice surrounded by flowers and coconut trees. It was quieter than staying along the road towards Manuel Antonio Park. I will recommand to stay there while vising the Manuel Antonio park as there are buses departing close to the hostel, and you will sleep better, and be able to go to cheaper supermarkets or restaurants.
Great host and lovely, quiet apartment. Quick to answer messages and they really care about you enjoying the stay. Perfect location for town and the bus station is close for an easy, cheap and frequent ride to Manuel Antonio park. I would stay here at this apartment and Quepos rather than in Manuel Antonio any day of the week.
What a wonderful stay I had at Casa Quepos! One of the best home stays I’ve stayed in. The hosts were incredibly helpful, kind and welcoming and I would highly recommend to anyone. Super great location and quiet throughout the night, comfy bed and all areas were very clean and comfortable. I felt at home at this little gem of a stay. 5+ stars ⭐️
everything about our stay at Pura Vida Guesthouse was absolutely picture perfect. A very charming hidden geme a few minutes drive from the town. rooms were very clean and cozy and good value for the money. I can highly recommend these place for families, singles and couples. The hosts was extremely helpful and kind and didn’t hesitate to give us advice or a lift to town
Adored the guest house. We stayed in Tiny House 1. Has everything you need. Our son adored it too. Very cool design. Communal kitchen and living space was a bonus to what was already in our unit. Jorge and Pamela are exceptional hosts. Jorge can set you up with anything you need or want to do. Surfing, food, fishing, et. Our son enjoyed chatting with him about futbol and we loved chatting with him about his travels and life in CR. Highly recommended this off the beaten path guesthouse.
