It’s unfair to rate the property on what they already tell you they have or don’t have. First, the instruction to check in at a nearby location was clear and not a hassle in any sense. Remember to have a 20 dollar or euro or francs bill with you for the key deposit. They do register guests for the free city bus pass.
The room was HUGE for 1 person. The bathrooms and toilets are very clean. No smell. The desk, chairs, wardrobe, and fridge were appreciated. Not something you find for $70/night in the center of the old town. Walking was extremely easy to hundreds of shops and supermarkets.
Located 1 km away from Lucerne, Gasthaus zur Waldegg features 2 restaurants offering traditional Swiss and international cuisine, a bar and a beer garden overlooking Mount Pilatus.

Nice accommodations, easy parking, and not too expensive so everything you could ask for, and the host Sandra is super friendly, bubbly and welcoming; she is a fabulous host!,
She doesn't offer breakfast but there is a bakery and supermarket on the doorstep and there is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room at the top of the house so you can easily make your own or cook a meal. Plus Sandra thinks of everything in the kitchen/diner and the bathroom.
The town of Sempach is extremely pretty and everything is on your doorstep including the incredibly beautiful lake, the views of the mountains and a lovley area to walk in, all of which are all only a couple of minutes’ walk from the accommodation. Plus, the town has a number of good restaurants, a teddy bear museum, shops and a lovely bakery we would certainly stay there again the next time we are in the area.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The property is at a great location, right by the lake next to the ferry station. Rooms have a balcony overlooking the Lucerne Lake. Room size is big enough for two people. We asked to add a baby cot for our 1,5 year old. The property provided the cot without any extra cost. With the baby the room was a bit tight but still sufficiently big for a short stay. A very good breakfast was available at the property. There was a good variety and plenty of food. Staff was also very kind and helpful.
The room was lovely. We were offered an upgrade with view of the lake and it was one of the most relaxing stays we have had. Rooms seemed to be newly decorated in a Alpen Chic style. Beds were very comfortable. So quiet and peaceful. Had a lovely meal in their restaurant. Really tasteful and good quality
Great location with beautiful views over the lake and mountains. The room was old, but clean and comfortable, and quiet. Lovely evening meal in the hotel restaurant.
It’s a great location right next to the lake in Luzern. Quiet and perfect for a isolated getaway. If you love to swim in summer and enjoy the backdrop of surrounding mountains.
We loved this guesthouse. It is spotless and in a quiet area.Coop and migros are 5 mins and so is the bus stop. The two kitchens were so convenient to make your meals and bonus was the dishwasher. If you are taking a boat from Lucerne than take a bus after coming out of the boat station on your right and get off at Weggis Neubuhl.
