Staff very helpful facilities was wonderful. Pool was lovely. On my last day pool was out of action. Which was a disappointment to my stay. Breakfast was very good too. Good quality breakfast. Will be visiting again.

Very conveniently located for our trip with on site restaurant and health/fitness facilities (although we sadly didn’t have a chance to sample the health/fitness side of things).

The staff were genuinely welcoming and approachable.
We had been at Hotel Tresanton the day before and the Crown and Garter staf far exceeded those we met there in hospitality, approachability and efficiency..
Fancy being able to walk straight from your hotel room onto a beautiful golf course? This is exactly what you’ll get by staying at a golf hotel, which often features luxury facilities like a gourmet restaurant, a health spa and high-end shops. Golf hotels are often set in dramatic locations, so you can enjoy lots of different outdoor activities.
The adjoining golf course grounds and surrounding gardens are a wonderful place to relax in. The accommodation building is well kept and is in good upkeep, considering the building's age.
The location, the views, the history, the restaurant.
Room was as described - King bed, big room, big bathroom. Views down the lawn to the lake were beautiful.
It’s a short 5-10 minute walk up to Donnington Castle and walking around the grounds is beautiful too. Plus a short 20 min drive over to Highclere Castle.
Fun fact: the golf course is the location of a civil war battle!
Location was peaceful, on a golf club with extensive grounds. Restaurant furnishings were nice. Breakfast was reasonable for the price and children eat free. Reasonably priced.
This hotel is all about the location. It’s a beautiful park, golf course and lake with plenty of walks around and to the castle and village. I stayed in one of the chalets which had a lake view and patio - about 200 yards from the main house.
The look of the place on arrival. Because its a golf club, they look after the grounds well, and it's in a lovely setting.
Check in, nice staff, friendly and efficient.
The hotel is within a gorgeous castle-looking building and is in a great location if you want to visit Highclere Castle (about 20 minute drive away). The grounds are also gorgeous but not walkable as there are golfers constantly on it.
The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning! The drive through the golf course to the hotel is amazing, we were blessed with good weather throughout our stay and therefore got to enjoy the scenery on offer!
Benn here more than once, and will return when travelling in this area. The building is wonderful, the food is good and the staff are welcoming. Huge room overlooking the golf course and lake.
