Donnington Grove is set on the outskirts of Newbury, overlooked by the historic Donnington Castle. This beautifully renovated 18th-century Gothic house is set in 550 acres of grounds with its own championship golf course.

The hotel was part of a golf complex set in absolutely beautiful surroundings, the staff were friendly and helpful and the dining exceptional. The cost of the hotel was very reasonable considering the location and hotel.

The hotel is within a gorgeous castle-looking building and is in a great location if you want to visit Highclere Castle (about 20 minute drive away). The grounds are also gorgeous but not walkable as there are golfers constantly on it.

The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning! The drive through the golf course to the hotel is amazing, we were blessed with good weather throughout our stay and therefore got to enjoy the scenery on offer!

Benn here more than once, and will return when travelling in this area. The building is wonderful, the food is good and the staff are welcoming. Huge room overlooking the golf course and lake.

Bed was comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were good but due to staff shortage (it seemed) service was slow for both meals, we were the only guests in the restaurant for dinner but it took 45 minutes for the food to be served. Location of hotel was very nice, lovely open space - which happened to be a golf course with a lake adjoining it.

(Summer House) Large and comfy rooms, large and comfy beds, lots of natural light in the room, coffee/tea and general amenities selection was good, parking near the rooms, golf course and paths to walk around nearby, would recommend for solo/couples, would come again

Location is great. Food was fairly good - typical golf club menu. Two of the three rooms I booked were OK. The third, which my wife and I were allocated should be rated as 2 star.

Beautiful location in a landscaped Park with golf club. Lovely views of the River Lambourne and lake with lots of waterfowl and trees. Very comfy bed; nice wet room with waterfall shower. Charming staff, especially the lady who looked after us at breakfast, which was a delight, sitting outside in the sun. Main house is very elegant, and the Chinese room has lovely hand painted wallpaper. Lots of interesting history too! A hidden gem even if you are not a golfer!
