The bath tub was absolutely stunning, especially during the evenings because it gets extremely cold up in the mountains so the extra large bath was a super nice treat for us

Assegaai Rest was a hit with my family! They could not stop raving about the tipis, the cleanliness, and the warm hospitality they encountered. The tents are positioned in a picturesque spot and a real treasure. They relished being in the midst of nature and fully embracing this one-of-a-kind experience. The sound of a nearby river was a delightful backdrop, and they loved spending evenings by the fireplace. This place is a hidden gem. Everything was perfect - the house was very well equipped with a splash pool for summer. The house is beautifully decorated with a cozy fireplace in the sitting room. The surroundings are beautiful with a huge mountain as a backdrop. There is a hiking trail and also a dam with a lookout tower, and you can do mountain biking as well. There is also ample birdlife. Nic and Nina are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit Oorlogskloof Retreat again.
Everything. If you just drive past the road, you'll never even know it's there. The room I had was private. It had the most beautiful view, and it was just so refreshing staying there.
The bed was super comfy and warm, the breakfast is delicious, and the location is great. You can walk to everything in town, and it's basically a 2 min drive to get to most places in town.
Everything was great! From the reception to our goodbyes. Comfortable room, clean, pristine....home from home!
This takes nothing away from our comfortable stay, just personally I'd have liked a more fluffy pillow or two, and a king-size bed.... that is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the excellent quality of the establishment.

Very comfy king-size bed in seperate bedroom, we lit the fire in the sitting room as it was rainy weather, quirky mix of old and new in decor with everything (and more) you need. Breakfast (best eggs benedict) out on the lawn. Totally recommended!!
