The receptionist lady very welcoming and great with advice about an evening meal - we choose a traditional Austrian restaurant Gruener Baum - lively spot with nice beer.

The new four-star superior resort GLEMM by AvenidA promises luxury, comfort and a breathtaking panoramic view in the middle of Salzburger Land. The house impresses with modern, fully equipped apartments, a classic restaurant and a fine-dining restaurant for lovers of fine cuisine, as well as a seminar room. The location of the hotel was well placed, with great views of the surround alps/mountains. The room facilities were great, with lots of storage and a small balcony to relax on. The spa facilities were great, with two saunas and a indoor lounge area, great for relaxing after a day of skiing. The staff were friendly and the restaurant and breakfast were of high quality.

Family-run since 1654, Hotel-Gasthof Maria Plain enjoys a quiet location surrounded by meadows and forests, only 250 metres from the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain and a 10-minute drive from Salzburg. Free WiFi is available. The room was more than I expected, lovely view of Salzburg from the hill that Maria Plain sits on. Roomy and well kitted out. Property is well maintained and sufficient parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was adequate and plenty of choices.

The 4-star Hotel Friesacher is located in Anif’s centre, 5 km outside of Salzburg. It offers a cocktail bar, a wellness centre and a heated outdoor pool. The restaurant serves products from the hotel’s own farm. Staff could not do enough for you, location was beautiful and access and frequency of buses great. Breakfast was the best buffet I’ve ever had and pool and spa area clean and relaxing. Restaurants food was excellent quality.
