Great location and although on the high street the bedrooms were very quiet and the four of us slept well. The place was clean and the bedding was good. The welcome hamper and dressing gowns were a nice surprise.

Ivy Cottage is a beautifully decorated, cozy and comfortable B&B with a great breakfast menu and (best of all) a wonderful hostess (Donna), who did a lot of the art and craft decorations herself an is a top-notch breakfast chef.

The food was absolutely amazing, Whitby haddock and home cooked chips with the most amazing batter. The breakfasts were delicious in fact the chef is very talented. Portion sizes were fabulous and the real ale was outstanding as were the selection of gins. The pub is opposite a quaint church and its bells were outstanding. What a lovely find and will definitely return

The location is second to none. The Shy is so big and we had Winter sun every day for a week. Underfloor heating is amazing together with dual fuel radiators and an Amazing balanced flue clean air efficient Wood burner. Minus 5 outside and the inside is like a sauna... Fabulous. You can't fault this place it's well furbished from top to bottom. 2 separate bedrooms with on suite showers..... I could go on but don't want to spoil it for anyone who books this 5 star cottage...... Best place we've stayed in ever........
