Quepos
Esquipulas Rainforest in Quepos provides adults-only accommodation with an open-air bath, a garden and a bar. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking. The farm stay offers mountain views and a picnic area. What an absolutely amazing place, out of all our travels this might be our all-time favorite. The cabins are lovely and the view in the morning is amazing. The entire location is just gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised by the bathroom and the showers, the water was always warm and relatively insect-free. In fact, there aren't many bugs there at all. The food was quite good, it's mostly the typical Costa Rican food but I'm sure if you ask, they could make something else for you. It's a fantastic place for birdwatching, whether you are a serious birder or not. Some normally pretty rare birds are easily found there. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the birds. You can go on a free coffee tour if you're staying there. We also had a lot of fun walking the trails and often tagged along with the birding tour that takes place every morning. However, you can also spend all days sitting in the little restaurant area and watch the hummingbirds, toucans, aracaris, tanagers and other birds at the feeders.

The vista from our caben was magnificent, we were walking distance to restaurants, bakery, and grocery stores, and a beautiful jungle trail. Samir, our host, greeted us warmly and arranged for us to go on a night walk at the farm right next door. Beautiful wood furniture and finishing touches.

The property offers garden views. The cabaña is lovely and the scenery in front of it is quite something. The bed is super comfortable and has nice fleece covers. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure and temperature were perfect! Even the fact that there was a tiny kitchen with a microwave, a coffee maker with coffee on site by the way, nice touch! Also a single ceramic stove and all the cutlery you would need for a simple meal. A small smart TV with YouTube and netflix just makes it even cozier! The whole cabaña was neat!

Kees - the owner - somehow managed to create one of the cleanest and most comfortable stay, in tents that we experienced in CR. The farm is green and close to nature - with it's own river and also a waterfall close to it. We only spent 1 night here - which we regret, because it might be a perfect location to do 'star tours'.
The food and views were great! We were in a premium room and we could watch the birds from our balcony which was so memorable and the rooms were big and spacious. The juice bar and beer bar were good! The farm tour which is part of Belmar was amazing, especially if you have young children.
It was a fantastic experience. The location is very rustic, a farm with funny turkeys, cows, goats, cats and dogs. Heyner is super friendly, kind, a big heart for nature. I felt very welcome. His wife makes wonderful breakfast and diner. Simple and with love. Real Costa Rican Country life. I defenitely will come back. It is near Sierpe, where the boats depart for a mangrove tour of to go to Corcovaro. Don’t expect luxury or fancy stuff. Embrace nature and relax. And feed Hercules the little cow with a bottle :)
Gringo and his wife are amazing hosts. Was very helpful before we arrived, picked us up off the boat and helped in any way he could. The cabin is a nice rustic stay, it's well equipped to cook in. Walkable to the shops and beach, and far rural enough for it to be really quiet. We saw macaws and toucans from the balcony of the cabin too!
The location is outside of the town but set on a farm with great scenery and wildlife. Jose, who greeted us, couldn't have been more helpful. The lodge was big and well presented. Breakfast was provided on arrival for our 2 day stay - fresh milk from the farm, juice, fruit, eggs, bread, butter etc. So it was self-catered but with the food provided. The whole place was rustic and charming.

They promise you a farm stay and that's exactly what you get. Natalia was the only staff we met and looks like she is doing everything at this place. She was very helpful and accommodating. Very nice view from the room, peaceful and quiet.
We visited Costa Rica for 2 weeks and this was the most authentic Costa Rican experience we had. Heynar and Jenny are superb hosts, with Heynar showing us the delights of his farm and Jenny serving up our delicious meals. The lodge is rustic yet very comfortable and sits amongst the farmland, overlooking goats grazing along the river. The location was perfect for a day tour to Corcovado from Sierpe (only a 15 minute drive). We only wish we’d stayed there longer- thank you so much for our stay!
