Everything was perfect. Excellent breakfast, spacious and clean room, wonderful garden and pool. I loved the kindness of the staff. The accommodations were tastefully renovated and the beds extremely comfortable. the grounds are beautiful with orange trees in abundance and very fragrant flowers. the breakfast was very nice. they have a restaurant for guests where we enjoyed a traditional dinner. best of all was Susana who made us feel welcome and who was very helpful and attentive.

WOW!! If you are even thinking about booking Casa do Penedo, just do it. The scenery is amazing, the house is huge with all the comforts of home and a unique collection of art. About 30 minutes drive to the village of Geres. The kayaks were fun on the river but boy the current was tough, and we loved spending lounge time in the pool after a day of sightseeing nearby villages or hiking. We grilled every night and dined al fresco at the large table (even beautiful table clothes provided) and enjoyed our morning coffee on the veranda with the most beautiful mountain and river views. We hardly saw anyone during our stay and it was like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Can't wait to go back!
