Solar De Alarcao, farm stay in Guarda

The 17th century Solar de Alarcao features a garden and a furnished terrace with Guarda views. The centre of Guarda is a 4-minute drive from the property.

The rooms are carefully decorated with typical Portuguese furnishings and have a TV, central heating and a private bathroom.

Located centrally near everything to see. A very nicely preserved building and decorated well to the period of its time. The owner greeted us personally and explained all the details of the building. Parking is available.

    Very pleasant converted, old granit farmhouse and courtyard. Exceedingly well done and very comfortable, clean and cared for. We were very well looked after by exceptionally pleasant people. The room and bathroom were very large and everything very nicely done. Breakfast contained a wide variety of dishes which were replenished when emptied. It is also well positioned if you wanted to explore Guarda, a much underrated, very old city.

    Breakfast was all composed of food made on the ranch: cheeses, meats and bread. The owner Juaquim greeted us with a glass of port and made reservations for dinner at a great restaurant nearby. There was a beautiful and friendly Border Collie who was happy to share the love.

    The care and attention provided by the family and their staff was warmer than the blazing log fire that greeted us when we arrived. The farmhouse has been beautifully refurbished as was our room. Within minutes of our arrival we had decided to extend our stay. Top
