Hunters Moon farm stay is 1 km away from Mosgiel Racecourse. It is 2 km away from Wingatui Station. The shops and cafés of Mosgiel town centre is a short drive away.

Your farmhouse cooked breakfast includes fresh fruit, cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit juices and free range eggs from our own hens. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided. Laundry facilities and transport to the airport are available at an additional charge.

We took an upgrade of room when we arrived as one had become available since we had booked. Idyllic location, superb room, well equipped guest kitchen and a plentiful breakfast with great views. John, the host, is so helpful and friendly - and we even got to feed the alpacas and sheep! One of those places we wished we could have stayed for longer.

Extremely clean and cosy. Heating was very effective, although hardly needed due to the fine weather. Quiet. Located near petrol station and supermarket and close to the beach. 5 min drive to CBD and farmer's market. Easy.

Something a little different than the ordinary. This rural location offered a fun experience for the children with opportunity to feed farm animals and watch rabbits hopping in the paddocks. Quiet and peaceful location but close enough to either Mosgiel or Dunedin. Absolutely loved it and hosts have done a great job to make sure everything is homely.

Rustic, serene sanctuary on a small farm surrounded by birds, wildlife, flowers, farm animals, with peaceful inlet and roaring ocean nearby, yet just 2 km from restaurants in Portobello; friendly and helpful hosts, Steve & Birgitte; fabulous home-cooked breakfasts; watching Steve feed the animals in the morning was fun and interesting; great base for exploring the flora, fauna and scenic beauty of the Otago peninsula.

The farmstay is a very lovely place just 10 minutes from central Dunedin. House was really spacious and cosy, kitchen was well equipped. The alpacas were a real treat for the children. We had a great time.

Quiet, rural, private, well appointed, warm, comfortable accomodation / retreat - yet v close to town by car. Internet is v good. Didn’t use mobile signal. Host is exceptionally thoughtful and accomodating. Lots of personal touches and little treats from the property and elsewhere. We stayed as a couple, but it’d be a small family ‘hobby farm’ type holiday paradise, with deer goats chooks etc on your doorstep to experience and hand feed etc.

The unit reminded me of the big farm houses found in the Karoo in South Africa, same wooden floors, same style of decoration. Loved it!
