The property is 600 metres from Tha Pae Gate, and within less than 1 km of the city centre. It was THE BEST hotel we stayed in Thailand. The workers were amazing, they treated us soooo well and they were so nice to us all the time. The pool, the breakfast was sooooo yummy and everything!! Will come back for sure

Beautiful resort-style property with lovely architecture, clean, modern facilities, and truly wonderful staff. From the moment they greeted me at the airport with a complimentary shuttle to the moment they dropped me off for my return flight, the staff made me feel welcome, special, and very cared for. I loved my stay at Smile Lanna! I also appreciated their focus on creative and social activities instead of having a bar (they do not serve alcohol on the property). It was a refreshing change from what a lot of the city’s hotels focus on.

Some units at the property have a balcony with a mountain view. the staff is amazing, looking to help with every small thing. breakfast is basic but gets the job done, waterfall shower and a bath, comfortable bed, very clean!

Commitment to earth-friendly practices was the best I have experienced. Food was abundant and excellent- fresh fruit and rice in banana leaves always available, as were water, coffees and tea.. Breakfast was excellent, with both Asian and Western options. Location was good, central to Thae Pae Gate area.

Each accommodation at the 3-star hotel has city views, and guests can enjoy access to an outdoor swimming pool and to a shared lounge. The hotel features a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Great value for money, friendly staff and comfortable, albeit somewhat simple, room. Simple but delicious breakfast. The staff was accommodating and offered us vegetarian alternatives and even a to-go bag when we had a 5am tour. The hotel is not within the walls of the old town but its location is quite calm and nice. Loads of smaller temples nearby, as well as a busy night market. A big plus is that drinking water is made available around the clock and free of charge. Coffee, tea and snacks too. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Asa and would recommend it for anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of extra walk in exchange of reasonable prices and cozy ambience.
