During our stay there were festivities at the local church which was very fun to watch in the evening. The Thai restaurant in the hotel was so good that we ate there 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed!! Zarela is an exceptional host. She organized a private tour to Chavin de Huantar for us with a lovely driver, Wilmer, and an English speaking guide, Martín. We highly recommend this hotel during your stay in Huaraz.

It is a fantastic place run by an adorable couple in the breathtaking landscape of the 6,000+m mountains of Cordillera Blanca. If need a break far away from civilization rush and noise this is the closest place to paradise. Absolute silence, fresh air, unbelievable views, great food (the owner is a French-Peruvian couple so you'll be a victim of a great homemade fusion kitchen. Evenings with a glass of wine in front of the chimney are priceless. I will definitively return to this place.

Casa montañista lodge & camping is a recently renovated country house in Huaraz, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and a shared kitchen, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the outdoor fireplace, or enjoy views of the river and garden. In short, 5 booked days turned into two weeks. We immediately felt at home and incredibly comfortable. For us it was a little paradise. The river that borders the house is perfect for swimming or fishing. From the outdoor kitchen you had a really beautiful view of the mountains, the river and the sunrise. It is a beautiful, quiet place with chickens, cats and sheep that belong to Walter's mother. She lives on the property and supplied us with little things to eat and drink from her little shop. When we were there, there were two baby cats that we really loved. It is super easy, quick and cheap to get to Huaraz town with the collectivo bus. From the property you can walk several small treks, such as to viewpoints and to a waterfall. We were lucky that Walter accompanied us on an adventurous hike to the waterfall. We already miss it and can highly recommend this beautiful spot in nature to everyone. It really exceeded our expectations. Thanks again to Walter and his mother.

Some accommodation includes a balcony with city views, a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with bath. Casa del Montañista felt like a little piece of paradise just outside the hustle and bustle of Huaraz. Easy to get to and from the city with a 5 minute colectivo. The tandem hammocks in the garden were a perfect spot to relax and acclimatize for a few days. Eva and her son are such kind and gracious hosts. They prepared a delightful breakfast spread for us each morning. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the mountain views from our balcony. Staying here was an absolute highlight. There are also many trails to explore directly from the property. We would highly recommend staying here.
