The character of the place was great, having kept the vault door in the bedroom made it really unique. The decor in the lobby and the historical artefacts of Oamaru was really interesting. The breakfast concept also suited us very well. All in all, it’s a very well designed boutique hotel with very nice and attentive staff. Definitely worth the stop.

There is a private entrance at the holiday home for the convenience of those who stay. The holiday home offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. We stayed in Amberla Cottages for one night for a sleep after and before a long car journey. This is actually a really good quiet place! The rooms are nice and cosy, and the little house contains everything needed. Hokitika is a nice place too.

I was exhausted when I arrived, so greatly appreciated her kindness!
