Room was clean and comfortable with a nice deck to sit outside. Bath had a huge bathtub for an after hike soak. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious

In the historic Swiss villa from 1880, you live in the same building as famous climbing pioneers from the end of the 19th century. The main house from 2002 was designed by architects Jarmund and Vigsnæs, and has been awarded for good architecture. It has modern rooms, a restaurant, lounge and a mountain library. WiFi is free. This is a fantastic location with some of the more interesting hiking and climbing routes in Norway, near the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. We choose the accomodation in the "Swiss chalet" and this allow us to save a lot of money :-) without losing the magnificence of the place and additional services provided by the hotel like for example the very good dinner (one of the best we have in Norway). The Chalet is really beautiful and extremely functional. Clean and full of services, like the shower and the drying room.

Guests can eat in the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which is open for dinner, brunch, cocktails and high tea.

Guests at the chalet can make the most of yoga classes offered on-site. For guests with children, Sjodalen Hyttetun og Camping offers an indoor play area, outdoor play equipment and a baby safety gate. Skiing and cycling are possible within the area, and the accommodation offers ski-to-door access. Lovely relaxing campground. were able to check in early which we appreciated. friendly staff

Cottages include a seating area and a kitchenette. Some have a balcony with lake views. Very roomy for two people, clean and practical. Really enjoyed the delicious dinner which would have been enough for 4-5 people.

Laundry facilities, BBQ equipment and a children’s playground are available on site. Free WiFi is available in the hostel and on request in the reception are at Vassbakken. We had a view of the huge waterfall from our window. Dinner at the restaurant was great - salmon and veal. Breakfast was also good. Kind and friendly staff.
