From the funky decor to its location! Even a standard room is spacious and the decor is very nice and fresh. Staff were friendly and able to accommodate our requests. There is a metro station about 50m from the hotel, a nice little street about 200m with restaurants and bars, supermarket about 150m. Bus to Keukenhof goes right from outside the hotel. We even got vouchers for a free drink in the hotel bar for skipping one cleaning which was a great touch - love the environmental thought! Honestly a really really great place to stay!!

Extras include bed linen. Staying at Kapitein Anna was delightful! The paddle-boat was built in 1911, and has an interesting history. The interior has been renovated but the owners maintained the boat's charm, preserving the rich wooden walls and brass fixtures. My cabin had two windows offering very pleasant views of the lake. The bathroom was modern with a nice shower, from which I could see out into the lake. The bed was very comfortable, and the A/C was exceptional. The boat's top deck had tables for relaxing and enjoying the awesome view of the lake. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and in addition to the meats and cheeses and fresh fruits and pastries, the staff also cooked eggs and bacon to order. The staff were extremely helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The hotel is located about a five-minute walk from the free ferry that conveys passengers across the lake, to and from the central train station. So at Kapitein Anna, you get a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city center, but it's only a 15 minute ferry ride away. If you're looking for a unique and comfortable place to stay while visiting Amsterdam, choose the Kapitein Anna. You won't be disappointed!
