Absolutely everything! No words can describe our experience. Our room (# 15) was a two individual beds on the 2nd floor, with the view over the inner garden, swimming pool and marvelous landscape to the sea (Desertas island can be seen from the top of the main gate - to the left side). The balcony is shared with two other rooms, with hand-made table and chairs of wicker and wood. Drying rack can be provided. Clean and quiet, we were had with blankets and heating system for cooler summer nights. TV is also included (but honestly we only noticed in our last night!) A common salon for breakfast, relaxing and talking with other guests is a nice place to rest your feet after some levadas and veredas. All place is inspired with the sympathy of Mister António, who welcomed us since day 1 and along our journey, suggesting us places to visit and advising whenever the weather changed and risky places were not advised to visit for safety reasons. We would definitely recommend you to stay here. Specially, who's looking for a retreat in a local village, near to the church and a famous pastery with local and delicious local treasures open all week! As Mister António suggest, to reach this spot from the airport, follow the directions Gaula/Porto Novo (route from the coastline and way up the hill) and avoid Gaula/São Pedro (route from the coastline and way down the hill) due to few narrow and steepy streets where only one car cross. We stayed at the hotel for 8 days. Excellent location near the port at sea level. The room was big with a great shower and comfortable beds. I have never slept so well in a hotel before. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend 👌 Thank you

The apartment has a modern feel with all of the details very well thought throughout of the appointment such as lights, layout and how space is used, the build-in cubostd. Its relatibely small space but feels quite spacious due to the way it's designed. Great bathroom and well done kitchen. It's very well equipped with all possible staff that you need in kitchen, bathroom (including very well staffed first aid kit) and even though it has 3 big windows that face the bed, the curtains are so thing that you can get the nice dark room for night . Also, the air-conditioning is over the bed and blowing air in such way that it dies not blow straight onto one spot, or you when laying in bed. Fot that matter, to the apparent gets great cooling and it's easy to relax during the day despite the 3 big windows and sleep at night. The location is just in the middle of central Funchal in a building looking over a small square with 5 minutes walk to the cost, the old market and the old town - all a must see where in Funchal. The great thing is that the square goes quiet in evening so there is no disturbance to sleep. Also, when buying trips or attraction in Funchal, the pick up is easy and almost always few minutes away due to the location. Also, all you might possibly need is around: market ,(highly recommend to use Continente supermarket l, don't use smaller stores like "Amanhecer" as they are soooo overrpriced), local restaurants, local cafes fir your morning coffee, pharmacy and like everywhere else all the tourist ships you can think off. Lastly, the staff ( a lovely man and a woman whose names we had not catch and it wpuld be great to memtion tbete here) ) were so helpful, kind and responsive that it made out stay move to the execeeemt level. We will definitely be coming back to Madeira and to that particular location!

We loved the hotel’s rural setting, high above Funchal, its old world luxury, and the quality of service offered by the staff. Best of all was the direct access to the extraordinary adjacent Palheiro garden. A very special hotel.

Great location, walking distance from the city center and with parking spots on the road right outside the Apartments. Quiet and clean, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom/shower. We had the most amazing welcome from our host, Sarah, who gave us the best tips for visiting the island. Thank you again! 100% recommended!

Our experience was quite strongly affected by the fact that we got a little upgrade for our stay, because we asked about using their washing machine and because we think that the more luxury apartments weren't so busy. As a result we also got to park in their car park and use the rooftop terrace with a little pool. Thanks! The flats are located quite close to the oceanfront, and close to the old town. The central town is about 15 minutes walk away, so also close. And because all those are sort of level with the flat, you never needed to go much up or downhill, which was great. The flat had all the basics you need, the kitchen had the basic cookware, there was also salt, towels, sponge and washing up liquid. There was a clothes drying rack and an ironing board. There was a cleaning service part way through the stay, which was nice.
