Tranquility Tiny House by Tiny Away, hotel in Owaka

Tranquility Tiny House by Tiny Away is located in Owaka. The air-conditioned holiday home is composed of 1 separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and a fridge, and 1 bathroom.

A fine solution for an overnight stay, but when you say "tiny" that is exactly correct. But Tranquility was certainly tranquil and nicely located. Heating was a slight issue as we found it rather cold overnight whilst we do not like running heating systems unnecessarily when asleep.

The house is very cosy and confortable. Perfectly located on the top of a hill overseeing the estuary waters. It's spacious and well equipped so families will enjoy it very much. It's also a short car ride from surat bay beach or nugget point so ideal if you want to explore the area. The staff was also very friendly and proactive on making sure we had a good time. We definitely recommend this house for families or couples wanting a nice retreat in Catlins.

We have stayed here a few times and have found these hotels to have everything you would need to have a good stay, whether as a couple or with a family. The facilities are a bit dated but well maintained and very clean as are the grounds outside. They come with covered parking and a few friendly cat visitors! I would highly recommend this Motel for convenience and comfort.

A perfect choice for my family. Clean, comfortable and all the facilities we needed for a short stay in the area. Parking was available at the front door to our room. Our host Gaynor, well her delicious welcome muffins held over the kids until I could prepare dinner in the fully equiped kitchen. Spacious and warm rooms, and the beds.... so comfortable it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. Supermarket is located around the corner, and exceptional coffee is near there too (look for a little wooden house with a "coffee' sign).

Tessa the host and her beautiful dog Arlo were super friendly and welcoming. She was knowledgeable about the area and was more than happy to answer all our questions. The room was affordable for a family of 4 and exactly as described and cleaned up to a high standard. Great location too!

There were no smoke alarms in the cabin we stayed in, which I thought must have been illegal!! Not impressed at all with young children. The water pressure was very very disappointing & we had to pay extra to use the communal facilities to get a decent shower. I understand they are on tank /rain water but don’t charge so much for a bathroom if you can’t actually use it. Finally the water pressure was so poor it kept making a banging noise. It scared the kids everytime a tap of toilet was flushed.
