We were upgraded to the room overlooking the Patan Durbar Square because the host family thought we would be happier there. Grateful for their concern, because the view was priceless indeed. One could sit at the window for hours and watch the festive processions, friends saying their goodbyes, young artists painting, elderly people chatting -- all of the true charm of this bustling cultural capital. Even though it was a short stay, our host family felt like old friends who would go the extra mile to make you feel at home - they are great guides if you want to learn about local food and history, and great company if you want to have an evening chat overlooking the view. Thanks Madan and fam <3

As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
I recently stayed at Suku family house and had a good overall experience. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the amenities, including the common areas and kitchen, were top-notch.
Yamba is very nicely located in Patan, it was perfect to explore around the neighborhood (which is much nicer than the touristy neighborhood of Thamel).
