Bardia Jungle Cottage, hotel in Bardia

Location is immediately outside Bardia national park.....you cannot get any closer. Facilities are basic but more than adequate. Hot water showers are available along with very good local food after a long day's trekking. The guides organised by hotel are exceptional. The owner is such a nice guy and the staff cannot do enough to make sure you are happy. Such good value for money. It's my 3rd time returning to bardia jungle cottage and my 7yr old's first and we will definitely be back to see more tigers and stay here. The packed lunch is perfect whilst in jungle and so well organised.

Mango Tree Lodge, hotel in Bardia

Set in Bhurkīā, Mango Tree Lodge features free bikes, garden, bar, and free WiFi. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service.

It’s a family run business and the owner Rajan (Former Wildlife Guide for Prince Harry and Hilary Clinton) and his brother in law Mahindra have given me the best possible experience in the jungle (both have over 30 years of experience)! Both are the loveliest/friendliest people you’ll ever meet! Rajan’s spoken english is excellent! I did two walking tours and one Jeep safari, both were one in a lifetime experiences. I always felt safe and properly guided. The rooms in the Lodge are beautiful and spacious. The shower has great pressure and was always hot! After a long day in the jungle the fireplace in the reception hall was already crackling and I got welcomed back with a hot tea or cold beer! All the meals are homemade by Rajan‘s wife and were always delicious! 10/10 stars, I highly recommend staying at Mango Tree Lodge!

We had the most unforgettable stay at Wild Planet Eco Retreat! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were truly in the heart of the jungle. The retreat is surrounded by nature, and the sound of the wildlife around you instantly transports you to another world. It's the perfect balance of comfort and immersion in nature. The staff and guides are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife. Our guide was an expert in tracking animals and had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife that we would have otherwise missed. He not only knew the behavior of the animals but also shared fascinating stories and insights about the flora and fauna in the park. We learned so much during our safaris, and it made the experience all the more enriching.Wild Planet Eco Retreat isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience. You feel deeply connected to the wilderness from the moment you step in, whether you're sitting by the fire in the evening, listening to the sounds of the jungle, or out on safari, witnessing the raw beauty of Bardia National Park. The team ensures you have the best wildlife encounters possible, and they genuinely care about the environment and conservation.Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic wildlife experience. We'll definitely be back!

The food was well prepared and portions were generous and there was a good choice of food. All the staff were very friendly and helpful/. the room had A/c which we were not expecting. It was clean and very comfortable with a good clean bathroom. The trips from the guest house to see the wildlife were really good and we saw a lot of birds and animals but will have to come back again to see a tiger

The Host offered to pick me up from the main road and when I arrived at the location I got my room (house) and food right away. The family who runs the place was always friendly and super helpful. I just had two nights before my visa expired, so the first evening when I arrived I planed a jungle hike and a stay over in a tree house in the jungle for the next day with the host. Everything was super easy to plan and the two days were great. Also the talks with the family were exciting and interesting.

Where to starts... Hukum, his wife and their little boy are amazing! They are some of the most hospitable and genuine people that we have met during our trip. After 5 days with them, we were super sad to leave! They make you feel like you are part of the family. The food is delicious and they make sure to switch it up as well. Also, Hukum is super knowledgable and can explain a lot about the village and the jungle. He also helped us to book our bus ticket and tuktuk for our next destination which was appreciated.

My stay at Jungle Base Camp was exceptional. Hukum is an amazing host. He will do his best to make your stay great (including refilling the fridge with beers as many times as needed...). You will get to share his daily life with his family. I had great conversation with him, and learnt a lot about the reality of Nepal while I was there. The lodges are simple but with all what is needed. The food is all organic and homemade, made with what grow in the garden. I recommend this place 100%.
