Excellent semi-detached apartment run by a lovely lady. The accommodation is very comfortable and spotlessly clean with all facilities provided. There is a terrace with outdoor furniture where you can sit in the evening warmth. Continental can be delivered to you and is very good value. It’s a short drive back into Usakos where there is a supermarket and liquor store.

Etusis Lodge, hotel in Usakos

Etusis Lodge is located in a nature reserve, 30 km from Karabib. It features a swimming pool surrounded by a garden and a restaurant. It also offers free private parking.

Unlike in some of the larger more corporate run lodges we had a much more intimate experience at Etusis. We were greeted by the host (and their pet meerkat 🙂) and subsequently dined with our hosts and other guests around a single table (eating lovely home cooked food introduced to us by the lodge chef). After dinner we sat outside enjoying the tranquility while watching the bats and a nightjar catch insects in the glow of the waterhole floodlight. Our accommodation was comfortable and private, set within the mature gardens looking out towards nearby hills which we walked within. Our only regret was having booked for one night only.

Achab Eco cabin, hotel in Usakos

Featuring accommodation with a plunge pool, garden view and a balcony, Achab Eco cabin is located in Usakos. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available.

We stayed in one of the Eco Cabins and it was fantastic! The interior was beautiful, someone with great design taste must have decorated it. It was spacious and had a great view over the hills, valley, sunset and stars at night. The kitchen was perfect with a two burner gas stove, refrigerator and all cooking wear you need. When we asked for a bigger knife to cut vegetables they immediately had one available. Shower was spacious and hot, bed was super comfy. We loved the patio in the evening with candles. Even had a little pool to hang your feet in. WIFI was available at the reception with a beautiful little sitting area. They also had a common pool, garden and some trails to walk. It was quiet and remote and just what we had been looking for. Road is doable by a 2x4 and it is about 1-1.5 hours to Spitzkoppe from there. We loved the self-sufficient eco thought behind the business. Highly recommended!

Issa Guesthouse Usakos, hotel in Usakos

Offering a garden and a bar, Issa Guesthouse Usakos is situated in Usakos, 30 km from Karibib Golf club. The property has mountain and pool views, and is 2 km from Usakos Railway Station.

The location is adjacent the Trans Kalahari Highway so a convenient stopover rather than a location in itself. The site is new - so facilities are excellent- rooms are great with WiFi, USB charging points, air-conditioning etc - just what you need after a day on the road. Swimming pool and bar area are surprisingly good and the host could not have been better - a really nice bloke with good recommendations for eating out.

Achab Self Catering Tent, hotel in Usakos

Secluded place surrounded by nature. Enjoyed our stay here. It's far from everything, so make sure to buy food in town. Uses donkey shower, so hot water for shower is not always readily available. Sunrise hike was worth it.

Nice place. Crazy to see so much wild animals (orix, zebras, girafe, crocodile, Springboks...) in the farm. Good dinner (traditional braai) and breakfast (all home made). Amazing hosts. Really enjoyed our time there. Good opportunity to meet people. Perfect for family with kids.

Friendly owners who welcomed us as expected. They served us with everything we asked for. When we stayed there they had family visiting and we could join the family braai .

Achab is a beautiful place with very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed every minute of our weekend! Children enjoyed the pony rides and feeding them apples. We made friends with the goats and enjoyed lovely nature walks and a braai with a view in the evening. We will be back!

The lodge is located in a magical place. The tent was very comfortable, bed was huge event for two adults and child. View from the room and from the pool is spectacular. You can see zebras from the room. The pool was nice. Breakfast was delicious. You can make a self-hiking trip in the area, just ask on the reception.

    - The farm & lodging is well kept and nice to walk around - We went horse riding for sundowners! Loved it! - The family atmosphere during dinner as everyone sits at a long table - They were able to accommodate a vegan diet You really feel removed from everywhere else in the world! My husband & I loved our 2day stay and met wonderful interesting people while we were day.

Incredible location and views, private lodge area so tranquil and no sound or view of other tourist locations, beautiful room and facilities, great power shower despite being in the middle of the desert, stunning views from by the pool especially at sunset, fantastic food especially from the headchef who we found out was doing a competition for best chef in Namibia! Great that you can organise tours from the lodge - we went on the sunset tour with Anna. We loved the tour and Anna was great - very fun and knowledgeable!

This is a really quaint, but truly beautiful place. I only regret not having stayed longer to go for morning and sunset hikes. Also, this would be an ideal spot to switch off or go to with family.
