You live in Lady's house so follow her rules and you will be fine. She is a little strict, yes, but she is also a kind and wonderful person. Here is your chance to live in a Japanese home and talk in Japanese language. Haven't learned any? No problem - the Lady will use a smartphone to translate. I had a really nice time, thank you!

This place is a hidden gem in Kyoto, Japan. I was lucky enough to find it and spend couple days there. It's a magical place to spend vacation far from the city in an authentic Japanese style house and living. I will definitely come back to it and stay for more days. It's actually incredible and the fact that it's hidden among trees in high lands made it more beautiful.

Very friendly staff, delicious food and great Onsen. The village of Ohara is very calm and perfect for a small hike, temple visiting and chill. It's very easy to get to (direct bus number 17 from Kioto station). It was a perfect calm day nearby Kioto.

There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Guests can use the hot spring bath and the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views.

- The couple managing the venue is incredibly friendly - The breakfast and dinner are copious and delicious, eating it with the other guests is a great experience - The location is incredible, close to the bus stop and central to the Ohara area which is famous for its temples - The room was comfortable and had everything you need - While it's a little far and costly from Kyoto center by bus, the price of the accommodation is extremely honest for the service - Last but not least, being surrounded by Japanese families enjoying a holiday break was a special experience!

Situated in Kyoto and only 200 metres from Sanzen-in Temple, Ohara Sensui Surrounded by Beautiful Nature features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The air-conditioned accommodation is 7.7 km from Ruriko-in Temple. The property is non-smoking and is located 10 km from Shugakuin Imperial Villa.

The property is a small but cozy standalone house with a number of traditional features, a large terrace and plenty of parking. It is an ideal location for the nearby temples as well as the national park and the popular temples at the top of Mount Hiei. The host is wonderful and responsive and speaks very good English. They met us on arrival and came to wish us safe trip on departure. Kyoto is relatively easily reachable, but I would recommend a car not only to get out to Kyoto, but also to get around -- there is tons to see in the area. However, you can equally stay in the village for a couple of days w/o the need of getting out anywhere given the local serenity of temples! The village has all the amenities and during the day time even lots of restaurants next to the temples.

Let me start with saying the host are lovebly and really kind. This was the first time of my friends and I in Kyoto, and Will absolutbly come back and stay more. We extended our stay with the Host when we saw the place, it was INCREDIBLE, amazing bathroom, and great bed, really spacious and traditional, it was a dream come true to be honest. We enjoyed the city by bikes that we rented right outside the house, the host offer us a traditional breakfast that was DELICIOUS, the sweet lady that came to leave us the food was also really kind and explain us the name of multiple things. I really wanted to take a shower in a big bathroom and this place have it, I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT. Is a place with no much things around, But the MiniStop that is a convenience store was close by going in the bikes, So if you don't mind to ride a little and enjoy the local view, go in bike and enjoy the place, just be careful, the place is in a Hill so take a good rest, i was out breath sometimes, but really LOVE IT. Btw the Washing machine is great and the place have a big balcony, so you can dry your clothes there.
