Great place to start your trip to Iceland. Excellent location in the center and a good breakfast. We arrived very early and could already join with coffee and some breakfast. The host was very friendly and had great travel tips for the other destinations in Iceland. We felt at home. Also nice place to meet other travelers at breakfast and hear their Iceland experiences.

This place is excellent!! Staying here makes my solo trip in iceland even more fantastic. Of course it’s also perfect for family trips. I love the cozy room and the lovely decorations. The host is also very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Everything was perfect. We got the family room on the ground floor, we had an independent entrance. The room was big and really really clean and well decorated. The facility was all new also the kitchen was nice and clean and well functioning. The location was perfect, just few minutes away by walk from the main bus station to the airport, even if we were walking with big suitcases it wasn't stressful. The city centre by the church area was 15 minutes by walk only. The area was quiet and nice.

The property is ideal for a big family, we were staying with kids teenagers and everyone liked the place very much. The gym is really piece of art, the kitchen facilities are perfect, the view from a living room is great. The house is very warm despite the cold temperature outside. You have everything you need for Iceland short or even long trip.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful inside and so comfortable and cozy to stay for our family of 5. It’s perfect for families with adorable play areas set up for small children and very comfortable beds including bunk beds, a crib and a toddler bed. Also it is located right next door to a convenience store to buy food and snacks. It had everything we needed for our stay and was so lovely we almost didn’t want to leave.

I spent one night in Dalur Hostel and one night unplanned in Kex Hostel so I can compare: Dalur, unlike Kex, is quieter, more modern, more equipped, with better wifi, smarter. The equipment of the room was perfect, each bed with a lamp, a drawer and space for small things, a toilet in the room, from the window I saw a meadow for tents, I think Dalur is more suitable for families with children and single travelers, while Kex is more for young party/noisy people who want to cook together, drink alcohol and have fun

Location is convenient, easy to reach from the airport, with many parking places in front of the building. Family room is huge and comfortable, very good for families with small children. Breakfast is nice, however the eating area can be a little crowded. Big-big thanks for the last minute rebooking of our stay for one day later because of our cancelled flight!
