I cannot express the praise of this amazing hostel in words! From the comfortable rooms to the peaceful location all the way to the amazing owner who deserves a Nobel prize for the joint he is running in Yogyakarta/Jogja here. Mukhatar ( the owner) is perhaps the kindest & most generous person I have met, he instantly makes you feel like part of his family as soon as you step foot on the premise 💞 Not only this but he will go out of his way to ensure your needs are met he will help with everything like; assisting with tour bookings, scooter rentals, laundry & assisting with translations, booking rides to get around town even provides information for places in & around Java such as: recommendations for local hotspots for events, sunrises/sunsets, hikes, cheap food & stores, you name it this man will put in 110% effort to ensure your enjoying your time here. The facilities here are top notch too, from clean bathrooms, a large open living room with a huge TV with its own Netflix account & PS4 to an open easy to use kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, plates, cups, cutlery, utensils, the works! 🍽️ If you're looking for somewhere to spend your time in Yogyakarta this hostel should be on your list, if you're lucky you might even run into the local polylinguist "Mr Saturday" a happy, sweet fella that will always put a smile on your face (if your timing is right you may even score a chance to taste his mouthwatering home cook-ups) or Mohammed the legend of the local nightlife who can fill you in on the the local bars & clubs around town also guaranteed to put a smile on your face both legends in their own right 👊 & often poke their heads into the hostel to say hello! I digress point being stop reading this review & book yourself into the Sleepy Raccoon Hostel ASAP it's an experience you will not regret, guaranteed ✌️&♥️

The fact that this propriety is a set of refurbished colonial houses. The rooms were large enough and comfortable. Location: close to Marlioboro street and train station. Friendly and helpful staff

One of the best hostals I have ever stayed. I cannot recommend this place enough. I booked for two and ended up extending for another 4! Hahaha the staff were so amazing and I’m so happy I found this little gem !

The place is tucked away in a small neighborhood, which is quite charming. Guests should be aware, though, that cars can't enter the area, so a short walk with your luggage is necessary to reach the place. The breakfast was also delicious and they even packed it to go!

Incredibly charming property that contributes to a very peaceful, yet convivial and social atmosphere. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood that is a short walk to the Kraton, the Museum Sonobudoyo, evening dining and leisure options next to the Alun Alun Lor, famous Nasi Gudeg restaurants on Jalan Wijilan, as well as other eateries, a supermarket, and ridiculously good value laundries. To top it off, you'll have the amazing team of Frank, Tiyas, Anggit and Yudi look after you. 11 out of 10.
