Although it is 7 km from the beach it is a superb location with beautiful sea views, large clean pool. We had impeccable support from the lady. Villa is equipped with everything needed for a family. Outside by the pool there is a terrace with table and barbecue where you can spend the afternoon in peace. Worth the 10+ and we will be back with great pleasure.

Brilliant loacation, host amazing , spotless , helpful , been a few times and will be back , she is so popular, so have to book early , one of the best places for us to stay as it is very traditional , lots of the hotels now in Georgioupolis as all inclusive and not for us, Sofias has been there a long time and love it .

A lovely 11 days stay in a spacious villa with plenty of facilities and very clean. Michalis is a fabulous host, visiting every day to empty bins, clean the pool and answer any questions (and equally happy to not visit if you don't need him). He's also always available on WhatsApp for any questions.
Finding homemade Pasticcio cooked and ready for us on arrival was very welcome after travelling. As was finding the fridge well stocked with essentials for our first day...so no rushing to the supermarket on arrival.
The villa is excellent...spacious, very clean, well supplied in all respects whether it is towels or sun loungers. The dishwasher and washing machine really helped.
The town is a short walk away (along or across a busy road) and take a torch in the evenings if you will walk home (Michalis kindly provides one). Or take a taxi for 5 or 6 €. All the taxi companies are good, and book your transfer from the airport direct with them as cheaper than airport taxi transfer.
If you hire a car, hire in the town after arrival, not from the airport....its MUCH cheaper.

I am slightly conflicted in writing this review. This beautiful village gains its attraction in part because it is not very well known and because it retains the spirit of a mountain village in central Crete from an earlier age. And long may that last.
However, in honesty I must also say that this accommodation in the centre of the village is a remarkable place - our suite was so beautiful and well equipped, and the garden so well cared for. The pool is really lovely. We had a jacuzzi in our bedroom but there is also a lovely comfortable lounge and kitchen. This genuinely a really beautiful place.

I want to leave a review here, as we REALLY LIKED our vacation here. A family with three children rested for a week. The apartment is spacious, new, with two terraces and a swimming pool. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and even more: complimentary wine and water, snow-white bed sheets and towels, dishes, washing machine, dishwasher. Even such small things as salt, sugar, tablets for the washing machine and dishwasher, board games. Each room has air conditioning and a TV. A sandy beach and a freshwater lake are a five-minute drive away. The location is good if you have a car. A very pleasant host who helped in all matters. We were lucky to find this lovely place and recommend it. :)

Brand new villa with aircondition, master bedroom with it’s own bathroom. Fully equiped kitchen with all necessary cooking equipment. Seating to rest + another seating with chairs to eat, both inside and outside, fully fits for 6 persons. Remember that the third bedroom has a up/down bed
The outside swimming pool is with stunning views into the country side and the sea. The view from the villa topdeck is even more breathtaking, especially the sunrise. There are no other buildings crowded with people around (just one unoccupied). Totaly silent area.
It takes 10 - 15 minutes by car to the beach with plenty of tavernas and beach bars with sunbeds to rent (6-9€/set) or even for free (when you spent some money on drinks/lunch). Butcher, fish market, bakery, homemade honey, supermarket - within 10-20 min driving.
By foot to the beach it’s a nice 1-1.5 hour walk, use google maps to stay on pathways without cars. For the way back use the “train” to the sweet water lake and walk for 20 more min, or ask for a taxi - chceck the price (20€) before you ride.

The space is ideal for big families providing all the amenities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay . The gardens/ pool is exceptional with med type plants very well maintained and is favored by location on a hill overlooking the bay . Location is short distance to near by beaches , while enjoying nature views . The host Irini is a great person helping on every need you might have .
The owner Minoas met us at the villa and showed us round. We were a large party of friends and family celebrating a birthday, so we used all three villas. The villas and location are simply stunning. Very comfortable with everything we could possibly need. Already planning a return visit. 🥰

Minoas was a fantastic host. It's an incredibly beautiful property which is a bit remote (which makes it incredibly idyllic and peaceful for us!).
Minoas and his family catered to our need and treated us like friends at their Taverna just down the hill from where the villa is.
The house was absolutely wonderful. Clean, tidy, spacious and with a nice view from the balcony. Each room was equipped with air conditioning, there are two refrigerators, two bathrooms, and plenty of mattresses, bed sheets and towels. I recommend it for large and medium families. The owner was helpful, kind, and respectful, in addition to being a remote tour guide via WhatsApp, restaurants and places he recommended were really good ones, concisely it was a wonderful holiday.
The hotel is exactly like the photos :) with great views of the mountains. It is located really close to lake Kournas and while its a hot walk you can get into town too (having a car would make things easier).
The staff went out of their way to make our stay a fun experience :)
