Ellesmere House, hotel in South Barrow

Boasting a garden and views of quiet street, Ellesmere House is a homestay set in a historic building in Castle Cary, 38 km from Longleat Safari Park.

This stay was truly 'a home from home experience.' Our hosts, Mel and Martin were very friendly and more than happy to answer questions and offer information regarding the local area. Breakfasts were a delight, which also included an extensive choice of tasty fruits and preserves. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and very much enjoyed visiting the surrounding area.

Excellent place for a relaxing family holiday. Clean tents, bathrooms cleaned regularly (probably after every use). The staff should be awarded for best customer service. Special thanks to Zara and her husband for their constant help. We will definitely visit once a year.

Beautiful woodland site with comfortable beds and good facilities. The site hosts out did themselves to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our kids were well catered for and made very welcome. Despite some rain we had a lovely evening with a campfire and BBQ.

Magical woodland. Tents big and comfortable. Just so natural and back to nature. Charging station a welcome surprise for our teens who we had warned may not have electricity. Zip wire a lot of fun for younger kids. Hot tub amazing g as always..... Service excellent. But...dont expect luxury....you benefit most from wanting to be self sufficient....the warden will gladly lend you a saw so you can chop your own firewood....its a really lovely experience Darell is friendly and accommodating. He took us on a glow worm tour....so special x
