The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. There was a choice of flat pillow vs sufficiently full bodied pillow. Staff were great - working with some old systems but never grumpy about it.
Centrally situated in the quaint town of Castle Cary, The George Hotel is a friendly, family-run 15th-century building, providing an ideal base from which to explore South Somerset.

It was lovely and welcoming. Friendly staff. Clean and fresh bedrooms. Great food😊
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
Location in the woods is pleasent, staff on-site were great, zipline for the kids was good fun, hot tub was good (although this is an extra cost), fire pit next to tent was good.
Excellent place for a relaxing family holiday. Clean tents, bathrooms cleaned regularly (probably after every use). The staff should be awarded for best customer service. Special thanks to Zara and her husband for their constant help. We will definitely visit once a year.
It was beautifully presented and really well equipped. Friendly helpful hosts, felt really homely and cosy. Perfect for our family. Lots of great destinations only a short drive away. Fab spot to explore Somerset.
Was lovely and so worth the money
We had a dog and a small child, the lady that greeted us amazing with children so patient gave her an ice lolly showed her the zip line and pirate ship, little fairy garden a marshmallow to taste and some ribbon to put on the wishing tree
Beautiful woodland site with comfortable beds and good facilities. The site hosts out did themselves to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our kids were well catered for and made very welcome. Despite some rain we had a lovely evening with a campfire and BBQ.
Magical woodland. Tents big and comfortable. Just so natural and back to nature.
Charging station a welcome surprise for our teens who we had warned may not have electricity.
Zip wire a lot of fun for younger kids.
Hot tub amazing g as always.....
Service excellent.
But...dont expect luxury....you benefit most from wanting to be self sufficient....the warden will gladly lend you a saw so you can chop your own firewood....its a really lovely experience
Darell is friendly and accommodating.
