The bed was so comfortable and the house cool and peaceful. Parking and access to the University was easy. I also enjoyed an evening meal. It was a restful stay after a busy working week with lots of driving.

Houseboat Hotels offer a unique guest experience within fully equipped, static houseboats situated in Sheffield’s Victoria Quays. All fully heated boats are just a 5-minute walk from Sheffield city centre.

A unique accommodation on a canal boat moored at a quay very near the city center. Quite fun! Spotlessly clean and run by a charming host. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, go elsewhere. But if you are in the mood for something different in a great location with all needs met, give this houseboat a try! There’s an easy to understand guide to the facilities on the boat. Included parking is right at the boat and directions to access are complete and simple. Nearby pubs and cafes. If you go, and you see owner Mark around the boats in the morning, talk to him! He is friendly with loads of stories and information and can tell you all about the boats. Our first visit to Sheffield, an interesting city with lots of history and many restaurants, pubs and historical sights. We hope to be back!

The property was nice, clean and spacious. It was really nicely decorated and so it really felt like a home away from home. We travelled with a baby and there was even a cot and baby high chair which we didn’t expect but it was really nice that this was also available. There was a guide provided on how to use things around the house and in the local area so we didn’t struggle with anything at all. Really really nice place to stay for a weekend. The neighbourhood is quiet and there many local shops.

The staff members are the real gem of the hotel! They are all extremely kind and accommodating. They made our baby girl feel extra special. The pool and kids play room is the best thing ever especially for families like us with young babies. The bar/restaurant staff are very attentive to detail. I can’t praise the staff enough.

From the moment you open the door the flat is warm and inviting. A compact approach but ideal for a family of 4/5 or 4 adults. There was plenty of teas and coffees left for you, and a good selection of house hoilday items from a iron board to a many towels. My two children also found some lego and books in the draw which was a nice surprise. The bonus of the amazon fire stick was a blessing as we could enjoy a movie or late night tv binge after our days out round Sheffield.

There was no breakfast. There was no kettle in the room, in fact there was no ROOM in the room. Just a cubicle with a bed and shower unit. Spotlessly clean, lovely staff but I only stayed one night out of the two I booked. Area was a bit of a concern for a 74 year old female travelling alone. I was afraid to go out for something to eat and couldn't even boil a kettle to make up an instant meal. Disappointing. I was going to a family funeral and travelling from south Wales so needed a bit more than was provided.

The breakfast was really good, lots of choice and good quality coffee! The dining room was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. We didn't have children with us but we enjoyed watching the teenagers using the waffle machine and using the choc sauce and cream, how decadent.
