Beautiful cottage, very comfortable bed and great value for money. Loved the fact that they are dog friendly and that our furry family members were able to come with us! Shap Abbey is very close by and worth having a walk around if you want to take your dogs for a walk nearby.

The breakfast was ok, but not as good as when we stayed last year. There was no fruit and the sausages were poor. My children enjoyed playing darts and pool, but the bar closed at 10pm which was disappointing as it was the last Saturday before Xmas, so we had expected it to be open later.

Warm welcome and friendly service, super comfy bed and quiet room. Great for a rest on a long journey. Dinner was delicious too and great value especially given it was a restricted menu that night. I imagine at a weekend in the summer it'd be livelier and a fun place to be.

    - Beautiful gem of a pub in the middle of the Lake District. - Quaint and comfortable. - Family of 4, with two little children. Room was large, with 1 large bed, and 2 small beds. Perfect for our family. - Breakfast was amazing, and very filling, and the view from the dining room was beautiful. Gave us an excellent start to our day. - Staff were polite and helpful, and rooms were clean and tidy. - Decor was tasteful and matched the beautiful building. - Will definitely visit again with family.
