Sunnyside House, hotel in Pennan

Situated in Gardenstown and only 49 km from Huntly Castle, Sunnyside House features accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking.

I stayed here with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Sitting at the dining table in the kitchen was a pleasure with outstanding views of the coastline. The beds are very comfortable. The living room with the open fire was excellent, it might have been a good idea to supply something to cut the logs, but still a great experience trying to light a fire. Overall the break was a great experience, with hosts obviously making a tremendous effort to make your stay, pleasurable. The property is on a bend and on quite a steep hill, so it will give you an opportunity to improve your parking skills. The accommodation has excellent heating controls on each radiator that can be increased or lowered with your fingertips.

The views are stunning from both inside the cottage and from the garden. My family love the coziness of the cottage. Kitchen is compact however it has everything needed to prepare and cook a meal. The owner of the property was helpful and friendly. Someone has left a review saying g tat the kitchen sink was dirty, it’s been replaced along with the tap so it’s spanking new. Testimony to the owner listening to feedback.

The property is on a beautiful secluded beach, the gardens are really well maintained & everything you could want is here. Beautifully furnished, so clean and comfortable. Hosts Bill, Lynn & their lovely dog couldn’t have been more welcoming (think dog treats and brownies!) Despite having a very unwell baby and toddler, we had the best time! We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights! Definitely stay here you won’t regret it.

Fabulous location- with the sea almost at the foot of our bed and with good views along the shore. Three actors from Local Hero were in the village for some anniversary fund raiser, and posed by the famous phone box which was just across from our room. Our hosts recommended a good restaurant in the next town for our evening meal.
