Muir Bank, hotel in Muir of Ord

Set in Muir of Ord, within 21 km of Inverness Castle and 13 km of Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, Muir Bank offers accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free...

We arrived late at night 9:45pm - having visited family locally - for one nights "convenient stop" with our dog. The self check in was straightforward and the room had everything we needed, plus breakfast bowls. There is a communal lounge available for use. Although we are both, thankfully, fit, we had a wet room which seemed to cater well for those with disabilities; plenty of grab rails, folding seat next to the shower etc.

The Birches, hotel in Muir of Ord

Boasting barbecue facilities and free WiFi throughout the property, The Birches is located in Dingwall. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom.

Enjoyed a 4-night break in the Highlands and stayed at The Birches in Dingwall. The accommodation is in a new build extension at the rear of the impressive main house, which you enter via a path to the side of the house. Check in on arrival was seamless as you receive a text from Moira (the owner) advising which room you are staying in and where your room keys and guest information is left. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, clean and ideal for me as a single traveller. Tea/coffee/chocolate is provided and you help yourself to milk from the fridge in the kitchen. You order what you like for breakfast on a tick list, then leave it in a plastic folder near the kitchen the night before. If you need to restock on tea/coffee etc. and have your bed made up, you leave a token on the room door. You're very much free to come and go as you please. I met Moira at breakfast more often than not and she was friendly and hospitable. The weather during my stay was perfect too - caught the end of the summer with hot and sunny days.

Gorgeous hotel. Exceptional food, excellent service. Lovely clean, comfortable room. Folder in room with history/annual reports was a nice touch. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Chrialdon House, hotel in Muir of Ord

A 12-mile drive from Inverness, Chrialdon House in Beauly offers stylish rooms and Scottish breakfasts in the Highlands.

This was the coziest accommodation I ever stayed in, super clean and we felt right at home the moment we entered the house. The host was one of the most lovely, warm and helpful person we met in Scotland (which is hard because everyone in Scotland was so friendly and kind!) and the breakfast she cooked was delicious! It felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel with the concept of a cozy home and it was run by an old friend! Can 10000% recommend this place and it’s absolutely worth it’s money! I’m definitely staying here again the next time I’m in Scotland ❤️

Plenty of space - we had booked the family suite and another double room for 5 adults plus one dog. We also made use of the kitchen and the lounge. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable - would recommend.

Affordable hotel, really good location - my partner and I were going to a nearby party so the hotel was great for one night or so. Not bad for the price!

The property was in a beautiful, peaceful location. Linda was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home. The room was exceptionally clean with crisp white sheets and the room was more than ample for my family of 4 and the luggage that comes with having teenage children! Breakfast was preordered and did not disappoint. The beautiful crockery and the attention to detail made all the difference. I would absolutely stay again and was disappointed to only have stayed one night.

Stuart the host met us when we arrived and helped take our bags to our room. He was very friendly and described everything in the room that we needed to know. Accommodation was huge with two bedrooms both of a good size, very large living area, fully stocked kitchen including a washing machine. Bathroom was big and clean. Location was very good and we drove to Ullapool from there. We even loved their cat Goldie who came to visit us.

Stayed one night before heading to ferry at Ullapool the next day and was in ideal location for this. We had a lovely drive there the next day. We booked the family suite which was very spacious and with a separate bedroom and dog friendly! The rooms were very clean and well kitted out with microwave , plates and cutlery which we didnt use but handy to have if needed. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The nearby co-op was useful for breakfast in morning. Very good value.
