A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. It offers stone walls and en suite bathrooms.

The room was as we expected, with great views. Breakfast, dinner, cheese platter with our drinks upon arrival as we traveled the whole day, a perfect start of our stay. The staff was as friendly and helpful as always and when we had to book an extra night last minute we got the large family room which, although not the great views, you do get red robbins on your windowsill to wake you up which we loved. Hoping to come back again in September.

For walkers, Ravenstone Lodge is at the start of some of the best Skiddaw walks, as well as being just 1 mile from the many walks around Dodd Wood. Keswick and Derwent Water are both just a 10-minute drive away, while the Western Lakes are around 30 minutes' drive.

The view of the hotel is absolutely stunning! Sadly we are only staying for one night. We have a nice view from our room, and even a surprising sunset view from the toilet! We had dinner before heading to the hotel, but I instantly regretted it because the menu looks attractive and you could sit outside and look at the great view. The breakfast was very nice as well.

Ben cooks wonderful breakfasts and they are both so accommodating (anything you want, they're willing to try!). Of the 3 weeks we have spent traveling, this was by far the best place and experience! Fiona had great suggestions for what to do around town, got us discounts for a boat tour (highly recommend), Ben got us a coupon for free coffees (we bought a great scone!) and overall they provided top notch 5-star service. Lastly, it was my birthday on our last morning there and they decorated the dining room and made a sticky ginger cake and sang happy birthday to me. Such a wonderful memory! I can't wait to return. They are such a treasure in our world and I'm lucky to have met them.

Location was perfect. 5 mins to the waters edge and parks. 2 mins from all the shops, pubs and cafes. Such a clean ans lovely outdoorsy place. Perfectly located to get the boat around the water and we did the cat bells walk with our child and dogs. Family suite room had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathroom and was very spacious and with great views and quiet being on the top floor. Andy was a great host who ran the place and even let us park on his drive for the few days we was there. Great place and would defo stay again.

Staff were very attentive and helpful. Family room was lovely and clean and well laid out which was perfect for the kids to have their own little space. Plenty of tea and coffee and fresh milk provided from downstairs. Little fridge provided which worked a treat. Location central so great with kids. Was perfect for us and we would stay again. Breakfasts were delicious with great choices and nothing was too much trouble. Also ate an evening meal in the hotel which again was superb.

Location was amazing, lots of walks on the doorstep. Peaceful and surrounded by nature, with seating in the grounds. We stayed in a deluxe family room which was large and decorated to a high standard. Lounge had a lot of seating areas (although very quiet and we received some disapproving looks if we chatted and made any noise playing the games provided with our child). Plenty of parking.

The location was excellent, and to have parking is a bonus in such a central area. The rooms are very spacious and the whole apartment is very, very large. It easily accommodated my whole family of four. It was a well presented apartment with good use of space. The booster seat was an extra bonus for my second child at meal times.

The family room was huge and comfortable, and the bathroom was a great size, too. Having a fridge in the room was a bonus. It was perfect for one adult and two teenagers to have our own space when we were in the room. The leisure facilities were really good. Better than expected. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and cooked to order with enough on the menu to provide choice and variety. We didn't have dinner in the hotel.

On arrival, I was struggling to park the car on the very steep driveway. However, we were instantly given a warm welcome and invited to park where the family park. We didn't need to ask for anything else as it was all readily available. The apartment was beautifully funrnished and fully equipped. The heating had been put on prior to arrival so everything was toasty and warm. We had a wonderful stay, thankyou.

Excellent location, very clean house with all that you need for a comfortable stay. we had six children in the group. Even for them there was plenty of stuff and for all. TV, books, puzzles. Every thing more than what described in the advert. I have found Chris very good in communicating and accommodating. I would recommend to all of my family friends visiting Lakes and would love to stay there again. Thank you Chris
