Fox and Goose Inn, hotel in Highbridge

Just 5 minutes’ drive from the beaches at Burnham-on-Sea and from the M5 motorway, Fox and Goose Inn offers modern accommodation. Rooms at the Fox and Goose feature Hypnos beds and mattresses and TVs....

Whilst the room was lovely it wasn’t clear how to use the side table lights. The pillows were set to cover the switches in the headboard. Breakfast was good but stating it used toast but actually half a bun which gave me difficulties eating. All minor points perhaps. The website says the bar is open all day on a Sunday which isn’t true. Came back wanting a drink only to be disappointed.

The surroundings were lovely. Cute little pod, lots of space for the children to play and explore. It was well equipped with everything that you need for a short stay. Lots of children there which was nice for our family, everyone was quiet and considerate. Shower was brill. We had a missed call a couple of hours before checkin, I rang them back once I’d checked in and they said we could have come early as the pod was ready which was a nice touch. Nice free roaming animals.

It was a quick stay on our way to Cornwall. The kids really liked it. We stayed in the small log cabins so I think it would have been better with a larger cabin, but we still really enjoyed our quick trip.

Owners were really lovely and had two beautiful dogs. Great location to break our journey down to Cornwall from North Yorkshire. We were upgraded from a family room to a cottage. The cottage was all ground floor so perfect for families with young kids, dogs or anyone with reduced mobility. The owner showed us a nice circular walk into the village which was only a 10-15 min walk and had a couple of pubs and a shop. Friendly locals. Nice and quiet. Good shower and comfortable bed.

When we booked a Yurt we expected little more than a tent. My daughter described it perfectly when she said it’s a quirky house in a room. Spacious, clean with everything we could ever need, cleaning products, tea and coffee, kitchen even a dishwasher not to mention free WiFi 😱😱 A later check in time fitted with our dysfunctional timekeeping 🤣👍🏻 The staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend it to others 👍🏻
