Great location. Near to tourist destinations and plenty of choices to eat. Size and space in the family room. Added bonus that the children had a separate space with full sized beds.

When I booked our two night stay, it was mainly on the basis of convenience - I was just looking for a decent place that could accommodate our party of two couples and a young child, close to the venue of the family wedding that we were attending. In the event, The Old Vicarage turned out to be an absolute gem - welcoming, very comfortable and wonderfully characterful. Our stay there enhanced our enjoyment of an already very special weekend.

Stayed with my 5 year old son, the family room was clean and comfortable, we had dinner and breakfast at the pub and both were absolutely amazing, there is a good outside area where my son could run around safely. Great location for both puzzlewood and the caves, free parking and free WiFi. Staff had a warm and welcoming attitude, if we ever come back to coleford we would definitely stay again. We had the perfect 2 night stay

We stayed in a garden room . Small but perfectly adequate. Breakfast was great . The restaurant was fully booked in the evening as it was St Valentine’s night . We ate in the Orangery and it was great. We stayed at the Hotel as we had a family funeral near by and the wake was at the Hotel . We will stay again.

Arrived at property carpet was wet in bedroom. Strong smell of damp on wall and we found damp too. Called cottage company who offered full refund so we could stay in a hotel. Property was not suitable for us to stay in with children. Was very disappointing we were there for an 85th birthday and had to spend three times as much on a hotel to make the weekend work. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

The family room was brilliant, spacious and cleverly designed using an 'L' shape so it was almost like having adjoining rooms. Both children had a proper bed, not a sofa bed either which was much better than in other family rooms at bigger chains. Staff were really friendly and children were welcomed. They also catered well for a coeliac (no gluten) at breakfast, which can be a problem in other places. There was a fridge in the room too which was helpful!
