We were so happy with our stay here. The cottage was in a quiet location (close enough to Durham for us) and so close to the lovely little village of Brancepeth and its golf course. It had everything we needed, was super comfy, and it was lovelier still than the photos. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and will stay here again when we next pass through Durham. Thank you!

Farnley Tower is situated in an elevated position, providing views over Durham Castle, Cathedral and surrounding countryside. The guest house is a prominent Victorian mansion, renowned for its architecture and gardens, with an on-site restaurant and bar, free Wi-Fi and car parking.

The hotel Manager Anna is very helpful. From the safety pin I needed for my dress for our daughter's graduation to giving us extra information on important events in Durham, she was very helpful and welcoming. Jade from Housekeeping Management is also very helpful and friendly. My boyfriend and I are quite busy and it takes time for us to unwind but the staff and the beautiful rooms and venue really made us relax. The Holi Bang restaurant was outstanding. I don't appreciate Indian food and from now on I will! Have a drink for happy hour downstairs and definitely enjoy the food at the restaurant. Farnley Tower is also very good with allergies. I eat gluten and dairy free and was very satisfied with their choices. Stay at Farnley Tower if you're going to Durham. I've stayed in other places and this is the best experience you'll have. Thank you Anna and Jade. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Great location, close to where the family we were visiting live. Coffee, tea, milk etc provided. Comfortable beds. Good sized front garden, suitable for the grandchildren to kick a ball around. They also liked the llamas, sheep and goat in the paddock nearby. We have stayed here before, happy to return!

We came as a family with two kids. Property was an excellent base for exploring Durham and surrounding area. Had excellent days out at Beamish, the national navy museum at Hartlepool and Durham city. Only 10 mins to the park and ride. Perfect for a base to explore this part of the country. The house it self obviously recently done up on the inside, and was very clean.

We loved our family room, it was great for us with 2 adults and 2 kids under 7. Sofabed was awesome and king bed was very comfortable - we all had a great sleep. Breakfast buffet was decent. Loved the proximity to the river and the lounging areas by reception. Staff were fantastic, so friendly and professional.

Long time since I stayed at the county, returning home for a family funeral. Hotel was as lovely as ever, but more importantly the staff were extremely professional and helpful, and gave us a room with wonderful views of Durham Cathedral and Castle. Thank you

We needed a hotel to go to a funeral and stop over for a couple of extra days to be with the family. the location of the hotel is great with it being close to the city centre. We didn't choose a river view but the view from the rear was equally as good and the main northern rail line wasn't a problem as all trains were going slow due to Durham station being very close. We've stayed at several hotels in the area and the Raddisson is probbaly the best there. It's far enough away from the night life for it not to be intrusive.
