This was a brilliant experience all around. From the second we arrived, through the outstanding dinner, the truly outstanding and amazing value room and rounded off with the best in class full English breakfast. This is an example of the best that hospitality can do when care, thought and attention to detail are prioritised.

The Barton Annexe is a self-catering studio accommodation situated in the village of East Lydford, 10 km from Somerton, 13 km from Glastonbury and 12.8 km from Street. Free off road parking and WiFi is offered.

We were met by the host, Jan who was very welcoming and pleasant as was her husband, Paul and the dog, Sammy who we met later. The accommodation is perfect, well furnished and equipped, very clean, quiet neighborhood, easy parking and in a great location for exploring the delights of Somerset and surrounds. We just loved everything about it so would certainly recommend it. We self cater so cannot comment about the local pubs but we are sure they can also be recommended.

The property is thatched and looks like a pub from the outside but inside has been nicely refurbished. The accommodation is in a separate building and the family room (room 6) was spacious and had been refurbished. Bed large and comfortable, nice bedding.

Full English breakfast was great. Host was very friendly and helpful in every way. A beautiful house in a beautiful location. I was on my own, but ideal for a family as there is lots of space both in the rooms and outside in the gardens. Lots of animals to see nearby including Alpacas and some very friendly donkeys!

This is an absolutely beautiful house and garden that's very much an active family home and working farm. The rooms are fully equipped, beds are very comfy, great showers, good wifi, great breakfast and the hosts were super friendly and welcoming. We were invited to use the spacious, elegant sitting room and explore the garden and farm, which was lovely. It's in an excellent location for visiting this stunning part of the country. I would certainly stay again.

The kitchen was closed so no facilities for Breakfast and no staff on duty at checkout. The hotel did give a refund on the room rate as a consequence but had to drive 8 miles to find a cafe for breakfast.
