Everything about the property was amazing. Great facilities. Fantastic food. It was so calm with no disturbance after Alexandria,Cairo and Luxor. Staff were amazing who went above and beyond. Sally needs a special mention as she was pleasant and very helpful. Kitchen and restaurant staff could not do enough for us.

The location is in a tranquil nubian village on the west side of the Nile. If you're with the car, you easily exit on a highway towards the Aswan Dam of Abu Simbel. The courtyard is a traditional one, the room was big, clean and with a good wi-fi. The host was careful and the surroundings looked safe. We also parked the car at the gate front and it was ok. The breakfast was tasteful and we served it outside in the courtyard. On the evenings, the lights from the courtyard make a warm and nice atmosphere. A good value for money!

The Mango guest house is a colourful gem in Assouan.
Our room was clean and spacious.
We arrived late but Ali (I think that was his name) was waiting for us at the ferry and carried our bags to the guest house.
The omelette at breakfast was great.
Unfortunately we stayed only one night !

Perfectly positioned just over the river on Elephantine Island. Ferry’s ran ever 10 minutes and cost 15p each. The accommodation was lovely and the welcome from Ali and his family was fantastic. Very laid back, air con was great as was WiFi. Food was excellent. Rooms were spacious and had every thing you needed. Couldn’t fault it and would thoroughly recommend.

This place is incredible! Echo what has been said before, it will be a slice of calm in the chaos of Egypt. The hosts are so welcoming and it’s just brilliant. The village is so loving and we had the best time. Would recommend this place to anyone!

The room was lovely and the view from the balcony over the Nile spectacular. Everything was very relaxed and the owner sent a boat to pick us up from the ferry dock. Breakfast was great and the staff friendly and helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Basmatic. Our hosts were a lovely nubian family, very warm and welcoming. Mustafa helped arrange a boat ride that took us around the nile and also swimming, the food was delicious (a little repetitive) and we enjoyed walking around Elephantine Island. No TV but that was a plus 😉 lots of cats around but they are friendly (I mention because I have a cat phobia so might be helpful for others). Mustafa provided us with a boat shuttle back to Aswan - we were picked up and dropped by the same shuttle and they helped with our bags. There is a public shuttle available for 10EGP and walking around the village is easy to do and very safe! We stayed 3 nights which I think is about right for a place of this type. McDonalds and KFC across the Nile in case you have fussy eaters like my 10yr old. Large bag of laundry only $7! Great stay!

Lovely place in the West bank of Nile. Nice and quiet. The staff are wonderful. Will take you across the river any time of the day.
If you are flying in to Aswan and travelling here, book the taxi pickup option offered by the hotel as it will cost the same amount and will have less hassle than bargaining with the taxi drivers at the airport.
