In 1142, the Grimsel Hospiz was the first guesthouse in Switzerland mentioned in documents. In 1932, it became the first electrically heated hotel in Europe.

it was very clean, very welcoming and super friendly owners, comfortable beds, quiet; good, solid breakfast. perfect place to stay while in the area. the food at the restaurant was great, price was reasonable for the area and Switzerland in general. the village is also super cute to walk around and there is a really interesting ski museum that’s free and is run by an avid skier.

The Astoria Hotel is very nice and as I understand popular place for travelers not only on the car, but also for bike. They have a big parking spot, nice view to the mountains from balcony. Very clean and cozy room with comfortable beds. Very nice, helpful and friendly stuff.
