Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD Hire, hotel in Arcadia

Just 200 metres from Picnic Bay Beach, Tropical Palms Inn offers air-conditioned rooms with a kitchenette and a private balcony or courtyard.

This was a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. It was easy to find and just a short walk from the esplanade that has a few restaurants, a pub, a cafe, a brewery and a gorgeous beach with a jetty to fish off (or just watch the world go by) and a swimming net. Picnic Bay is a quite spot on the island but the busses run frequently and on time to get you anywhere else on the island if you want to explore. The man on reception was so friendly with a no fuss check in and super informative about anything we needed to know. The accommodation is small but absolutely spotless. Paths and gardens were clean and maintained, the pool was sparkling, the outdoor bbq area super clean and spacious and the rooms were just perfect, actually better than the photos. They had everything we needed for our night stay, we would definitely stay again and hopefully for longer next time.

COST EFFECTIVE ISLAND ESCAPE! Studio Unit, Nelly Bay, hotel in Arcadia

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a pool with a view, mountain view and a patio, COST EFFECTIVE ISLAND ESCAPE! Studio Unit, Nelly Bay is set in Nelly Bay.

Amazing stay. The accommodation style was nothing fancy, which I expected given the budget allocated, but it was so nicely arranged that it felt very homey. Everything in the room (deco, utilities) was thought through to improve the experience and it was the best equipped room I have ever been in. They even provided women's hygienic items! Nothing was missing. The overall resort was beautiful, with plants all around and even occasional wildlife. The pool felt like it was in the middle of the jungle. It looked a bit worn out and in need of care but the surroundings made it special. The restaurant was alright for dinner, with a really friendly hostess. Aside from the restaurant hostess, we only interacted with one other staff member, Lynda, via messaging. She was awesome. She gave us the heads up that the pool would be closed for half our stay. I expressed my disappointment and Lynda went the extra mile to improve our stay. Thank you Lynda!

Dandaloo is in a great location and perfect for family with kids. Short 5 min walk to Alma bay and bikini tree cafe which had delicious food. The bus stops right outside. The RSL is open for dinners on the weekend located across the road. 5 min walk to the walking tracks to the forts and other lookouts. Access to a laundry to wash clothes. Fans and air conditioning throughout. Lovely shady gardens and wildlife surrounding. A lot of space! 20 min walk to Nelly. Quiet location.

We self catered for meals which went ok except we visited the nearby RSL for dinner one night but were very disappointed with the quality of meals for the price. Brookhaven was well appointed with pretty much everything we needed for our stay. We had a nice break with the family and grandchildren. Nice beaches nearby to have a morning/ evening swim.

Fantastic motel and great for families/friend groups. We were a group of 8 staying in two family rooms, which was more than enough space. Pleasantly surprised about the ocean view from balcony, and staff were super accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent basic facilities, with cheeky kookaburras trying to steal your chips. It has a bar and restaurant, with 2 kid friendly swimming pools. It's a 1 minutes walk to Alma Bay, a world class beach full of sea life swimming between your feet. Also a 1 minutes walk to Geoffrey Bay, with wild wallaby spotting, and those brave enough, a 100 metre swim to snorkel over an amazing coral reef teeming with incredible life.

The Dandaloo House was definitely perfect for our quick family getaway, and a taste of the island for a night. (4adults 2kids) The house was spacious, affordable, clean and close to everything we needed. Great walking distance to the park, beach, pub, cafe, we had a 4 yr old n 1 yr old with us, so short distances worked a treat. The house had everything you needed for a great trip away. I would stay here again without hesitation- and for more than one night next trip. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.
